Archroy
I was rooting through things in the attic and came across a load of old minis, of which this is the only one with any semblance of a paintjob which is intact and almost half decent (chips etc notwithstanding!)... http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk285/the_clarn/10062010235.jpg I think it was maybe 20 years ago I painted it (give or take) but I was wondering if anyone know more accurately how old it is, whther it was part of a set/chapter, a character model etc? If you really want to you can comment on the painting too! I'm in two minds as to repaint it... It's a great model, but I'm kinda fond of it the way it is! BorisBC
I have an early 90's Citadel Miniatures catalog, and it's in there, so you're pretty close on it being 20 years old! *edit* just checked and it first comes up in the 1991 Catalog, so there you go! The Normish
Looks to me like some sort of sergeant or Captain (hence the cape). Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203837-retro/#findComment-2430251 Share on other sites
WAR
Ah the old captain with terminator honours I had one for years......I think he is buried in a bits storage box with other old marines of that era Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203837-retro/#findComment-2430267 Share on other sites
Archroy
Now I'm wondering whether or not to repaint it... I'm quite fond of it as is, and I'd definitely want to do it justice... Brother-Captain Sharp
Well, you got some kickin' rad battle damage going on (the chips). :ermm: I say keep him, for old time's sake. I just came into ownership of 2000 points of 2nd Edition marines, and if they were actually painted, no way would I strip them. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203837-retro/#findComment-2430348 Share on other sites
IronKobra
I have this model too. I think he fits great as a veteran/sternguard. I say strip him and paint him up! it still stands as a failt strong mini in mey eyes. Skyzerker
A great, classic mini you have there! I remember when he came out way back when in the days of 2nd edition. There was a resculpt in the early 2000's that featured Imperial/Crimson Fist iconography as part of a set of shoulderpads and chainswords. I think I might even have both versions floating around here somewhere. I'd say strip and repaint him, but I can understand if you want that nostalgic feeling and want to leave him as-is.
