undeadfilth
So me and my buddy figured out that in a 2.5k game you can fit in 8 land raiders and 6 troop choices. so thats six 5 man assault squads in discounted land raiders and 3 with i think barebones termie squads(maybe something different, I don't remember exactly). does this sound feasable? I mean they wouldn't all just be of one varient so we would probably have some lascannon land raiders roming around too. just a thought but it sounds like a fun and possibly very competitive list if done right. Burningblood
Nice and evil. I like it. Can you fit some sang priests in there? eventually your squads are going to have to get out.
wookielips
thats a hella expensive list to actually buy/acquire. 8 land raiders? ouch. i'd like to see the actual list, but 5 man squads assaulting out of them aint scaring anyone.
voi shet magir
Three death company in transport are five points cheaper than minimum ras in transport, and they are actually good for killing stuff. So, there are some melta bombs for you. Anyway, buy four LR with min squads for 1260 in 1500, with the remaining 240 on... a librarian and RAS razorback, it is barely as useful as any other army. Everyone packs all the melta they can get, so maybe if you are fighting orks they are good, unless they kill you with irony: aka Battlewagon spam and def rollas. Sanguinarian
Probably going to have to recalculate your numbers, because barebones, 6x5 naked Assault Squads, 3x5 basic Terminator Squads and 8 Land Raiders will cost you close to 3000pts. And you have no HQ. The way I built my list is to annihilate everyrhing or at least, control 1 objective and contest 3. For 2500points, the best you could do is 6 LRs: 5x5 Assault Squads (Melta &PF in each squad); 1x5 basic Term Squad (either 5 Tactical Terms or 5 LC Terms); 1 TDA Reclusiarch w/SB; & 1 TDA Sanguinary Priest. Leaves ~115pts to play with.
Burningblood
Calm down sang. But I don't disagree with you at all.

SamaNagol
Everyone should own the Codex, then they could answer the question themselves. It's not a workable list in terms of being competitive. It's a huge financial outlay. But yeh. ell oh ell Land Raiders. You can take 4 of them at 1500pts with 3 RAS squads, a DC and a Librarian.
wookielips
i think that many land raiders actually could work..... pack redeemers with DC to assault out of. pack crusaders with plasma tac squads/dev/sternguard to shoot at mid range pack godhammers with 5 man tac to save points and sit on home objectives. maybe 1xML in each. could be a nasty 3 tier force, and could be REALLY good, imo. expensive, but....... i mean, imagine: you deploy first. your opponent puts EIGHT LAND RAIDERS across the table from you. uhhhhhhh, what do you do? even if you focus one down a turn... you probably arent popping 5 in 5 turns....... so....... yeah. and even if you pop 1 or MAYBE 2 a turn... you havent touched the troops inside taking your objectives or shooting/charging your face off. it gets nastier and nastier the more i think on it. (but it still costs 55 bucks x 8......... RL $ = )
voi shet magir
own yeah, I usually think it is pointless to post about armies I have never used, and it is true, I do not own eight land raiders. ohmygod i died and came back as stelek

SamaNagol
2000pts of Mech Vet Guardsmen with 3 Melta per squad and a selection of Vendettas wouldn't have too much trouble with it.
Demoulius
Hmmm lry death... think it can work, depends om your opponent alot though ps love my new iPhone
wookielips
cut out 8 blocks of foam or cardboard to the size of LRs. find some local friends who dont mind the box models, and play it. see how it needs to get tweaked.
Swordbrother
You can squeeze in 5(!) land raiders at 1750p And you get 25 assault marines all bunkered up at that. I think such a list is actually pretty competitive too ;).
