Dess
How does this work exactly? Say I pick my first special weapon to be a flamer, which is free, can I then at 10 models pick a free plasma gun or do I have to pay for the more expensive one and get the cheap one for free? Blarmb
Your 2nd weapon can be any on the list regardless of the first decision. That being said weapons of the same type tend to play nice together. And if you are very very tight on points, and a flamer will be useful, then its totally valid to do it this way. old git
Although tactical flexibility is nice. A flamer for anti-horde with a melta for any armour that strays into range, or plasma to try and get a wound or two onto MCs or heavily armoured infantry. Grey Mage
Yep, wichever you buy first is cool, you get wichever you like free for the second one. I wouldnt ever mix a rapid fire and assault weapon like a plasma-gun flamer, but flamers/meltas mix alright, and doubles gives you a good bit of reliability wich is always useful. The second special weapon will always be "free", no matter the cost of your first special weapon. Just have a pack of 10 GHs, and you're fine ( wolf guard don't count ).
