Need ideas

Basically, I am working on a compilation of short stories to explain some background information about my chapter, the Night Angels. More specifically, the pact my chapter has with the Space Wolves. Many millennia ago my chapter's home planet Daethos was attacked by malicious forces (haven't decided who yet) when a vast majority of Night Angels were throughout the galaxy. The Space Wolves, seeing a brother chapter in distress, came to aid our besieged world. As a sign of friendship, the Great Wolf those millennia ago and I, Zynk Kaladin, made an eternal pact of friendship which allows us to swap one squad in each chapter. The idea is for the swapped squad to learn from the other chapter and trade tactics and skills. Much ale and banter ensued after the pact was formed, of course.

Now it is the 41st millennium and the Night Angels just went through a huge war. We are vastly under strength, roughly 460 marines, and are now rebuilding our chapter. However, for the 9 man veteran Blood Claw pack swapped to our chapter, they are quickly becoming bored. After the first year of rebuilding the Chapter, the Wolves start to turn into pesky hooligans. From spray painting wolf symbols on Imperial craft, to stealing weapons and making all sorts of trouble, the Wolves love to see the anger and frustration of the people of Daethos. To hunt the pesks I have picked 9 Night Angel hunters best suited for tracking and infiltration. At first glance, my intentions seem to be to fetter these nuisances. However, my true intentions are for this hunt to be a test of skill, wit, and experience which will hopefully teach both sides respect for each other and hone their skills as warriors. Of course this should happen after both sides beat the living hell out of each other in the manner fitting of great warriors...

Here's the link to the start of one of my stories. You do not need to read the background information because I already told you it in this thread. Also, if you're interested, here is some more information about my Chapter and some pictures of my color scheme.

I am wondering if you guys can give me some ideas on some mischief a Blood Claw pack and get into in a hive city or in the neighboring countryside. Also, if you like, can you critique my story? It's not finished but ideas are always welcome.

Thank you in advance for your feral wisdom.

A problem I see with this is that your having the Wolves trade Blood Claws. Blood Claws are unruly and haven't completley gotten used to te effects of the canis helix. The risk of devolving into a Wulfen is still strong at this point and the leaders at the Fang would know this and so im doubtfull that they would send a full unit of Blood Claws unsupervised. They would probably wither send a unit of Grey Hunters to honor the pact and IF they did send Blood Claws they would be sent with a seargent who would keep them from acting up like you want them to. The Wolf Blade which is a group of Space Wolves sent to Terra to act as a body guard for the leader of House Belissarius are usually veterans or Grey Hunters (except for Ragnar Blackmane who was on the verge of becomeing a Grey Hunter when he was sent to Terra).

But it is your story so you can do what you want :D and in terms of helping a fellow B&C member out I would say that the Blood Claws would most likely get into a series of brawls with just about anything, drink the planet dry, mark their territory, blow a couple buildings up and eat every ounce of veal that they can find as well as have the occasional food fight.

My wolf buddy mentioned that concern to me which is why he told me perhaps they should be a veteran Blood Claw pack. I have a Wolf Guard leader on my planet, making the squad 10, however he does not partake in the Blood Claw's mischief. I do ,however, have a sergeant in the squad who also has a bit of a mischievous side and tries to keep the Claws out of trouble.

The reason why I chose veteran Blood Claws was because they are old enough to not go crazy, but are also unruly enough to give my Chapter headaches. Also, because I bought a Blood Claw pack a while ago and got attached :D

Thanks!

EDIT: And as for marking their territory, they have already pissed on the armor of my 1st company Sternguard Squad when it was being refurbished by the chapter's artificers. How they infiltrated my forges and did so is a mystery only they, Russ and the Emperor can know... The little whelps are sneaky.

I'm liking this story, you should ad more to it. If your ever looking for ideas for some things for the claws to say, may I suggest searching for the old brawl threads around here, they make for a very entertaining read. :D

No Wolf Guard is infallible...and if they are Bored enough they would find a way to make mischief...probably not all of them at once, just taking turns so that half could cover for the rest. Its a great Idea though and I do like it alot.

I would think that even some Grey Hunters would become "unruly" after a while. Imagine Sven, Ragnar's old packmate, after about a week without any ale in him. The poor guy would probably go mad with frustration! I don't see any of them, even Claws, resorting to any sort of vandalism like graffiti. Brawling would be a lot more likely IMO and would fill more of a 'challenge of strength' than a need for violence.

Imagine if Sven lost that drinking game to Ragnar. I don't think he would even last 1 week drinking just milk!

The point of the vandalism isn't necessarily to spray paint a wolf head on, say, one of my Chapter's prized warhound titan's leg. It is to prove their abilities to infiltrate and go anywhere undetected by leaving a mark or sign like saying"Russ was here". I do agree they wouldn't give the citizens and warriors of the Imperium too much of a hard time by vandalizing, though. Brawling, very much so. Bar fights, yes sir. Brawls with my Night Angel hunters, all the time.

My planet isn't just one giant hive city, though. My capital city is surrounded by vast jungles, high mountain peaks, and wide oceans. I wouldn't be surprised to see the wolves going out into the jungle for whatever reason. Maybe to just get away from the city like my character often does. Or they just want to play with my planet's wolves ;)

Grey Hunters would make much more sense, but I have grown attached to my Blood Claw pack. I accept the challenge of making the Blood Claws believable. I just need to find the right balance between pesky hooligans, bored warriors, and honorable people to make these stories work.

Pulling tricks like sneaking up on sentries and placing stickers with wolf heads or runes on their backs without them noticing. Basically I would think along the lines of 'counting coup' non lethal ways to go "Yes If I were an enemy I could have killed you,as it is I just make fun of you" that sort of thing.
