Howling Nightwolf
I think correctly, that as much as the iron priest is not an IC, he can not join another unit, which actually means almost complete uselessness his saga of iron wolf? And as the first sentence was right one of the best ways to use him to put him on the sm bike or thunderwolf (in the latter case adding his cyber wolves)? CainTheHunter
The Saga is not that useless. One of the combos is putting him with 3 servitors in Land Raider variant where he is driving 12"+ d3 and repairing any damages (except destroyed/wrecked) on the roll of 2+. Then i say "useless" i mean - i can't join IP to bloodclaws/greyhunters unit put this in LR Redeemer/Crusader and all ahead fuul to the enemy line. And in you combos IP can take 2 servitors because saga of the iron wolf add +1 to his repair roll. IMHO. WG Vrox
You can make him a unit in and of himself inside a LRR or LRC, packing 4 Cyber Wolves 3 Servitors and IP = 12 spaces. That is alot of ugly in a 160 point package. You can make him a unit in and of himself inside a LRR or LRC, packing 4 Cyber Wolves 3 Servitors and IP = 12 spaces. RunningWolfFenris
Could you add Ragnar to that combo? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204171-iron-priest/#findComment-2435189 Share on other sites

Hymirl
I think I'd rather add Ragnar to a unit of grey hunters, then I can kill everything AND hold objectives afterward. :) I find its rare that my land raider takes fixable damage, either it laughs stuff off or its a meltagun that causes it to explode... either way the teck wouldn't find himself a lot to be doing. Wispy
It's not a terrible choice if you want to take a land raider without dumping points on another expensive hammer unit inside. It's faster then even a Blood Angel land raider, and you can plug a cheap-ish assault unit inside (not the best assault unit, but can do a decent job versus most things). A land raider... and say, a squad of Thunderwolf Cavalry effs up your opponents target priority real bad, because instinctively they are both durable targets that will reap a terrible toll. Getting a redeemer to enemy lines is pretty devastating. Toss a vindicator into the list and it beomces a "ARG, what do I shoot?!" Immobilized results are pretty common for taking my LRR out of the fight and the extra D3 for the 8 inch Flame Store templates are at times invaluable. Give it a try, ends up being a very versatile cheap unit. Just don't expect to much as there are no invol saves unless you add in a HQ which I suggest you not. These guys can eaisly finish up a unit hit by the Flame Sotrm or when faced with Dreads or the like, let the LRR hit the soft targets and your IP crew can take down AV 10-12 pretty easily.
