Hotspur
Alright, brothers... Some people at one of the LGS are planning on putting together a small (around 1,000-1,250pts.) CoD campaign. I have never played that particular expansion, but having leafed through the book, it looks like it could be kind of fun. What are your experiences with the Wolves and CoD? Is the expansion worth playing or should I sit this one out? They have about four other players signed up at the moment, but nothing is set in stone. They want to get around six players before they'll seriously consider the campaign. If they do decide to do it, and I sign up, what would be your suggestions as far as units go? -HS Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204174-sw-and-cities-of-death/ Share on other sites
Decoy
Wish I could give you solid advice, mate. As it stands, the only thing I could really offer to you is, depending on terrain density, avoid tanks. As Wolves, you have the capacity of putting down lots of infantry, and in an infantry-dominant environment, Wolves have an edge. Perhaps Thunderwolves and Lone Wolves would be prudent for you to consider. Wish I could help more, mate, but my old storemates never wanted to play CoD with me back when I played 13th Company (go figure.) Black2Jack1
I actually just played a COD game yesterday against Khorne. I won only because I used the sewer rat strategim and because Logan and 7 TH/SS Wolf Guard dominate every unit in the game. Otherwise I made the mistake of not having enough infantry to get the building flags. first turn my Rhino gets popped and the 10 GH's inside take a flag but get destroyed by one demolisher cannon. All instakilled. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204174-sw-and-cities-of-death/#findComment-2434510 Share on other sites
Durfast Spiritwolf
TWC can be nasty - at least until your opponent works out that they can't climb stairs and puts all his scoring units on the first floor ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204174-sw-and-cities-of-death/#findComment-2434542 Share on other sites

Why can't TWC climb stairs? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204174-sw-and-cities-of-death/#findComment-2434686 Share on other sites
Durfast Spiritwolf
No need to bite :D Moving with Ruins - 'only infantry, jump infantry, jetbikes, monstrous creatures and walkers may move on the upper floors of a ruin etc.' TWC are - well, the clue's in the name - cavalry. A few reccomendations though? 1) Dozer Blades- if you dont have them, get them. 2) Dreads kick even more arse then ever before. Heavy Flamers, Extra Armor, and a solid AC or MM.... mmmmm. 3) Consider taking a Vindicator and a Whirlwind- Vindicators shine, and can destroy buildings. Whirlwinds can hit just about anywhere on the board and make a mockery of those gaurdsmen who are suddenly shrugging off heavy bolters. Footslogging is alot more appealing that it might be otherwise. Anyways, its good times. Fights are close ranged and deadly. The extra rules are really easy to follow, shouldnt be much of a learning curve. SWs excell at it, possibly more than any other army out there right now.
