Black2Jack1
When logan attacks with his Axe and uses it as a powerfist does his I5 go down to I1? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204198-logan-grimnar/ Share on other sites
Decoy
Looks to be the case, as it strikes as a Powerfist. Rules for Powerfists are that it strikes at I1. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204198-logan-grimnar/#findComment-2434757 Share on other sites
Black2Jack1
NOO!! I was argueing that it since it was the Axe of Morkai it would be quicker. Well there are always frost blade attacks. Captain Idaho
What would the point of having a weapon that can be used as a Frost Blade as well as power fist if he could use the power fist at initiative?! Wispy
Nice try, Chief. When you use it as a powerfist, you're hitting at I1. Why would they give you the option of using it as a frost blade OR a powerfist if the powerfist hit at I5? You'd always want to hit with the powerfist. Â Using morkai as a powefist is for occasions when... Â 1. You really need to wound that monstrous creature. 2. You really need to get out of combat with that walker. 3. When you're fighting something higher Initiative then you and it's going to hit first anyways. Â For every other occasion I'd happily rely on the frost blade. Grey Mage
Yep... now, if they said he was armed with a dreadnaught close combat weapon, youd have a case.... *sighs* The Axe is pretty burly as it is. Â On top of what wispy said, it can also be used to break up wound allocation by striking at different Is. Frank Fugger
Personally I'd throw a couple of Powerfist swings into pretty much every combat unless the Frost Blade was going to work better, just because being able to swing at different Init levels with the same model is awesome fun. Jarl Bloodwolf
Think of it this way. When you use the powerfist portion of it Logan is weilding the axe with two hands so theirs more force behind it but it takes longer to swing where as if he uses it one handed he's faster but their isn't as much strength behind it. I really have no clue what value this has to the discussion as it dosen't have anything to do with rules and such but its just what I thought when I read the topic and I thought I'd share Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204198-logan-grimnar/#findComment-2435808 Share on other sites
