Falling out between wolf lords

I’ve been thinking about those great companies that decided not to follow a new great wolf and go off and do their own thing.

What happens if their fleet, a few decades/centuries roll up in orbit around Fenris? The Fang is their home and they might have forgotten a few relics or half a dozen suits of armour, or (all father forbid) a crate of mead.

Would they be allowed back in? They are not traitors; they just don’t like the current boss. Could they come back if he is away, or passed out?

What about if the great wolf has passed away and a new one they like is elected. By now they have probably been replaced as a great company and their name is now on the 13th stone. Would they be allowed to rejoin?

I can’t see the pack being broken up amongst the other great companies, or amalgamated with their replacement. Wolves are to head strong and brother loyal for such actions.

That, would depend entirely on what the Great Wolf at the time decided to do.

I dont see why, if they were open to be inspected for purity and re-swearing their oaths of fealty they wouldnt be brought back into the fold though.

I wish I had the lost company articles on me, they cover some of this.

Im pretty sure they can come back to resupply or recruit , just maybe not staying for dinner and Ale XD

but yes like Grey mage said , it depends if the master of the Fang (Great wolf) allows it or not , but i dont see why they wont take care of brothers even with disagreements

The SW chapter isn't like one big happy family. Wolf lords jostle for position, power, glory. Read the Spacewolf series by King and he describes this exactly. Even in the old codex there is a story about everyone arguing about who's company will lead an attack until Grimnar slams his fist on a table and openly offers a challenge"Does any one here beleive me too old to lead my company in battle" obviously no one says aye, I do ya old git....but it is open for debate.

If a wolf lord said stuff you Great Wolf and left the fang they would be able to return at will, perhaps not with impunity but some would openly greet such a ... headstrong wolf lord.

all depends on who was great wolf was and who his friends were when the rogue wolf left. If you said sod off to Logan and I was his best pal and became great wolf. then you return, would i be happy with you? I dont think so. However its really up to the Wolf and Rune Priests who even Logan pays a hearty helping of respect to. So.... actually i guess it would be up to Ulrick and Njal

Well thats pretty much a situation that could be... it happened during the Vicking ages...the medieval...Yeah they're not traitors and they throw a banquet and pay for enough mead and meat to fill their brothers in the fang I assume they would be allowed to come back!
