Vorion
Logan has three wounds because the Emperor saw what would happen if he should have four and weeped for how shamed the other chapters would be. As for Meph he is redic, you have a possesed marine in your midst and yet wont burn him like the witch he is Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204320-logan-grimnar/page/3/#findComment-2445206 Share on other sites
The_Betrayed_Spacewolf
force multiplier. marneus doesnt make terminators troops (thank god) dante not looking at nor do i know the rules off hand. however his troops are expensive as all get out. older codex what he adds to the table is no where near as good as vanilla marines seth cant ignore armour lysander I 1 forever and always. also not a chapter master Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204320-logan-grimnar/page/3/#findComment-2445209 Share on other sites

Kanis
I agree that all Masters should have the 4th wound, just for the title sake, but I don't think the Old Wolf is at a disadvantage without it, his skills to give himself rules, plus the unique ability to split attacks between the Wolves best two CC weapons is well worth it. And really, what other Space Marine Leader has called in a whole company of Grey Knight Terminators to combat a legion of daemons. Personally comparing each Astartes Leader is a bit odd for me, since we are all on the same side, after all and to me, Calgar and Logan could be great drinking buddies after kicking the pants off of some poor, nameless foe. We are all comrades, and should be comparing them to how we can beat down some traitor marines, like that rule-breaking Khârn and his skill with an axe! (Really? Like he's the only one that uses one?) and on that note, I rest my axe. Lagrath
GW massively dropped the ball on Logan with 3 wounds....for 275 points, and according to the fluff, he should be 4 wounds hands down. Especially when considering the stat-lines on a number of 250 or less point powerful HQs for power armor armies (abbadon, mephiston, lysander, marneus, etc.) The extra abilities don't make up the cost fully, especially as there are usually big trade-offs in army composition or in choosing abilities (with assault guys for preferred enemy, sitting in the back with long fangs for tank hunters, etc.) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204320-logan-grimnar/page/3/#findComment-2447660 Share on other sites
Wispy
lols, I can't believe people are still people are still discussing this. 3 wounds is fine. I consider what Calgar does for 250 and what Logan does for a little more, and I think Logan is a better buy. And if he could, he would fill it with wine. Horrifying. Captain Idaho
But you'll like to have any Space Wolf in your army ^_^ Well let's not go too far! I... I just can't force myself to picture Logan drinking with CALGAR. I mean, he couldn't even grasp a mead horn. And if he could, he would fill it with wine. Horrifying If he can hold a power weapon I suppose he can hold a mead horn of the Space Wolves. After all, Space Wolves are likely to use the sturdiest materials for their drinking utensils first and other equipment second. Point of note, mead is closer to wine than ale, the alternative name being Honey Wine after all. Secondly, wine is stronger than ale, on the whole... :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204320-logan-grimnar/page/3/#findComment-2449765 Share on other sites
SeanyPrawny
But wine doesn't have the specific herb in that the wolf ale and I'm assuming mead...if they even drink it, have to allow a marine to get hammered so your stronger wine is just a bottle of grape juice to a wolf. Captain Idaho
So it isn't just because it is 75% proof then? The secret ingredient isn't opium is it? Come to think of it, that kinda fits! A bunch of nut cases with poor hygiene and unkempt facial hair... It's all starting to add up! greatcrusade08
actually macraggian wine can also affect space marines! As for Logan id sure love to paint him blue, but unfortunately we cant mix codecii. I did have a one on one Calgar/Logan match up once, which Calgar won with some luck.. i actually think they are pretty even, the extra wound would make him better than calgar. Yep, one of the three alcohols strong enough and with the right additive to affect a marine.
