Power Chainsword?

Hi all, long time reader first time poster so forgive me if this thread has already been discussed.

I was introduced to 40k about a year ago and im now a bit of a fluff magnet, the lore of 40k is so interesting to me and makes alot of scenes. I was wondering (even though the chainsword is deadly as it is and i dont care much for the people who slander the "realism" of a chainsword) would it be possible to have a power chainsword? some sort of lost STC or something and if so how would that increase its effectiveness in combat?

cheers

in the space wolves codex from third edition Frost blades could be Chain weapons, and Ragnar Blackmane still wields a Chain/frost blade. so im sure it could be argued that a power weapon could be affixed to the teeth of a chainsword

If you were to do this, id say try to acquire some Khorne Bezerker Chain Axes for coolness effect

:D power chainswords has been a Idea I have thought of really it would just project the powerfeild around the chain to increase its cutting power and also leave nice raggerd slashes in what ever your cut to bits all you really would need to do it put those power cables up the sides and your good to go maybe a glow off the chain but yeah.

It's simple.

1. Find a chainsword

2. Install a device that surrounds the killy end of the chainsword in a disruptive field.

3. ???

4. Profit.

In all seriousness I don't see why you couldn't do this. What is a powersword but a blade with a disruptive field around it. What difference does it make if the blade is a chainblade?

Slight fluff correction: all frost weapons are straight chain weapons, with no power field. The added strength bonus comes from using special teeth (kraken, if memory serves) in the construction.

But yeah, chain fists already combine properties of both, so with proper construction I don't see why a chain/power sword combination wouldn't work, fluffwise.
