Arjac, LRR and WG's

Hi there,

 

In a non Logan army, I'm looking to run a Land Raider Redeemer with MM, Arjac and a bunch of WG as a real hammer unit, aimed at their MC's or IC's, but I have never run a unit like this before so would appreciate any advice on the load out. I'm thinking of 3 basic TDA WG's and a couple of Storm Shields in the group somewhere.

 

From a Points/Cost-efficiency point of view, I'm a big fan of playing to the Space Wolves strengths, and in the new dex I think these are Rune Priests, TDA TH/SS Lone Wolves and ML Long Fangs - I think these are all incredibly good value for points and include all of these in my lists.

 

I consider TDA PW/SB WG's at 33 pts to be in this group too, so I'm thinking of having 3 and keeping them to 33pts each and not adding any special weapons - but as I've no experience with this type of unit I don't know if this is a mistake?

 

I've got lots of anti mech elsewhere in my army so I'd probably only need one combi-melta - I'm also worried about shooting before assaulting and the opponent running away. Are 9 Power Weapon attacks and Arjac's five S10 attacks on the charge enough Special Close Combat Attacks?

 

Any advice on how to kit out this unit would be appreciated.

The best WG Hammer unit is none.

 

Do 10 GH w/ 2 Melta, MoTW, Standard - 180 pts

 

Add Arjac, add redeemer. Not only more for your points, not only scoring, but the hammer makes Arjac the best freakin character in the codex.

 

This + PW in GH squad and you have a wicked scoring hammer unit
