Blood Angels scouts

My friend is buying some scouts off me with some of the money he expects he to get for his birthday. I figured, since it was his birthday, I'd repaint them in his army colours.

 

So after many, many years in the dutiful service of Rogal Dorn, these scouts have joined the bandwagon.

Nice job, especially as it's a repaint! Lovely and smooth, especially on the faces, which can be a right pain.

Ah, brings back semi-fond memories, I had two full squads of the metal scouts once upon a time, but mine were never as well painted as yours though. I think your friend will be quite happy with his purchase B).

 

I particularly like the red you've achieved on the armour, and the shading on the faces that makes them look slightly stubbled as though thery're actually on a long range mission.

Shame they've left Dorn.

A good repaint if I ever saw one. I've often thought that the metal models might be better than the plastic ones, which are a pain to glue and keep together (too many flat surfaces, not enough sockets like on the PA Marines).

Will you be re-basing them as well?

Yeah, I was just looking at the plastic ones and these look alot better, less modular perhaps but better looking, back to topic nice paintjob bud can't fault it :(.

I do prefer the old scouts mostly, too. I like the shooting poses on the new sniper scouts better though. Still, I just finished preparing the last 5 metal ones for my army and still have like 15 or so which I originally wanted to use for a BT army.
