LardO'Blood
Im starting to get really annoyed with my current paints, they chip frequently, are very flat, limited colors and can form strange detail obscuring "lumps". Should I be using some sort of sealant on them? And are the lumps just my lack of painting skill? Rider-75
what brand and type of paint? are you thinning the paint? are they on metal/plastic/resin models? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204525-paints/#findComment-2438908 Share on other sites
LardO'Blood
Americana acrylic paint. http://www.decoart.com/cgi-bin/Products.cg...ricana_Acrylics No thinning involved. Just standard GW plastic models. The paints a few years old but I re-mixed it a bunch. The little lumps and super obvious brushstrokes might be my 5 year old dollar store brushes taking there toll. Stolid Fox
The lumps are likely a combination of not being thinned and the paints being made of fairly large particles which would encourage that. Model-painting acrylics might help, if you want 'ultra tiny' particles then airbrush paints are even smaller.
