My Stormraven Gunship

WOW, this is by far one of the best looking storm ravens. its exactly how i would picture one, being a mini baby thunderhawk. Your concept brings all the features that are the marine flyers. My only real complaint is the underbelly twin link assault cannons. Why so many want to put such a great weapon under the assault ramp is beyond me. Personally i would rather being able to actually fire the assault cannons as i drop the assault ramp down to provide some major support fire to those exiting the front ramp, as it stands your big guns can't do that if the marines were to leave the front ramp, and would have to rely on cover fire from the heavy bolter top sponson and the hurricane bolters once added and if they are taken. You could easily add the assault cannons under the wings, split them up into two seperate cannons under each front wing and have them fire at the same target(to count as twinlinked). This to me would make some of the best sense because it would also be a great location for the twin linked lascannon option or twin linked plasmacannon option.

Again great job on capturing the mini thunderhawk look. I can only hope that GW's Official model takes some pointers off your rendition, because this would make for one awesome kit if they do.

Very nice sir, very nice indeed.

I'd love to see it painted!

Just amazing. I looks incredible.
Great Job! I like it.

Thanks! <_<

Dude- if you can, please try get the templates uploaded somehow. Would love to try remake that.

Already in the works. I started drawing today. ^^

That's a good point but to be honest, I'm yet unsure where to place the weapons. I just wanted to fill the holes before taking photos. ^^

Anyway, I'll keep your thoughts in mind. Would look pretty cool i think.

I hope so as well. GW's new model releases disappoint from time to time. But my theory is that they'll introduce the Stormraven to all other Space Marine chapters via a White Dwarf update, shortly after the Codex:Daemonhunters release. There would be a lot of money to be made and I guess that will encourage them to make a really nice looking model. Let's hope for the best. ^^

Nice conversion. I like it, despite the fact I stand firmly outside of the faction which believes every space marine vehicle that leaves the ground has to look like the thunderhawk. So even though I do not think the Stormraven is supposed to look like a T-hawk, and nothing in the book says it does, Cudos to you on your superb work.

darkrob you are an inspiration!

I can't wait for the templates as I wanted to field a stormraven but I could never justify it. The project just seemed too daunting. You have truly made something that has made me realize that it's worth it.

Crap, now I have to figure out how to get it into my list...

@Lokied, ProteanSun & Spagunk

Thanks :)

I'm in a hurry so this will be short...

The templates for the hull are done. It isn't easy to make measurements on an assembled model if your only tools are a ruler and a set square. So I can't guarantee that the dimensions are absolutely correct and the parts fit together perfectly. I also hope that the size of the templates didn't change while scanning them. One square on the graph paper is supposed to be 5 x 5 mm.

The Hurricane Bolters are magnetized and the "claws" can either be used to carry a Dread or to give it safe support while landing on nearly any surface (a rocky mountain, an asteroid, a building, you name it). Just like a bird. ^^
