Hi guys, going to start a Blood angels army soon and want to magnetise jump pack / normal backpacks and a few arms as well, out of these magnets which ones are the right size for the job?

Also do I need a dremell for doing this or will a pin vice with a larger drill bit do the job?

Lastly does anyone know of any tutorials? (Just about to go google away but just in case my search fu is weak)

Thanks

I use these myself...Only just started on the magnets thing and these have been really good really. Nice size, I actually managed to drill the top of a hand and under a melta/flamer so I can swap weapons and also into the wrist piece and hands so I can change weapons without having to paint a whole arm again.

You can get the 2mm drill bit on there too, I wouldnt use a dremmel, they may well tare your smaller plastics to pieces! It's soft enough to do by hand.

Well, I can't give you the exact sizes you show on that website since we don't use metric here, and I can't convert it easily (math was never my strong suit), but I use 1/16th X 1/32nd for weapon/ hand changes and 1/8th X 1/32nd for arm swaps which could work for backpacks and jump packs. Hope this helps.

I'm using 2.5 x 2mm for arms etc, and they are more then strong enough for this, in fact i have just put a pair on my land speeder to hold the stand (the part that goes into the speeder has long since been broken off in there.) and they are fine holding that together.

here is where i got mine for if you want to compare strengths etc.

edit: also defiantly by hand i have just done a squad of marines and a few metal objects and its not to hard to do by hand, plastics you would damage to easy using a dremell, metals take a bit longer but lets you get the depth just right.
