Epic wargear combinations

I was just wondering wether anyone had any really kick ass ideas wargear combinations for their wolf lord, battle leader, lone wolf or anything else worth mentioning regarding equipment.

i have a couple:

wolf guard battle leader

chainsword

combi flamer

wolftooth necklace

mark of the wulfen

saga of the warrior born

140 points

great for mass murdering carnage :D hitting on a 3+ with a possible eight rending attacks on the charge, he is bound to kill afew men at the least. he then adds the amount of kills to his attacks next turn, having more chance of killing and it gets snowballing. before this even, he can burn the squad with a combi falmer to really cause some casualties. oh and he is initiative 5 so he will often hit first. :D

wolf guard battle leader

wolf claws

wolftooth necklace

saga of the beastslayer

this combination gives you to re roll his rolls to hit AND wound against monsterous creatures or enimies above toughness 5. bear in mind he hits on a 3+. perfect character killer.

now its your turn to share your killer combos :D

Wouldn't a Wolf Claw be better for that first one? MotW tends to under-perform on HQs - don't underrate the value of ignoring armor (and, sadly, 5th ed. Rending doesn't really make up for this). I can mathhammer it up for you, if you'd like.

The first one that springs to mind is a Wolf Lord with Saga of the Bear, a Thunderwolf Mount, a Storm Shield, a Thunder Hammer, and a WTN. Nigh-indestructible (toughness 5, 3++ sv, Eternal Warrior), S10, and disturbingly fast (fleet and capable of charging 12").

Personally, though, I run a WGBL with Saga of the Hunter, a Plasma Pistol, a Frost Blade, Meltabombs, and Runic Armor. Outflank him with a group of Scouts and let him wreak havoc on their back lines. Cheap (compared to a Thunderwolf Lord, anyway), but effective, albeit not so awe-inspiringly destructive. A Rune Priest is also pretty beastly, in part because he doesn't *need* much extra wargear to be good (though Runic Armor, Chooser of the Slain, Saga of the Beastslayer, and Meltabombs don't hurt).

Instead of 2xWC you can spend 10 extra points for a WL and 1xWC and get the same amount of attacks

You also get WS/*W*/LD increases

Wolf Lord

Jump Pack

Frost Blade/Plasma Pistol or Thunderhammer/Storm Shield.

Runic Armor

Belt of Russ(If going frost blade)

Melta Bombs(If going frost blade)

Wolf Tooth Necklace

Wolf Tail Talisman

Sage or the Warrior Born(frost blade)/Saga of the Bear(Thunderhammer)

Place in unit of Skyclaws with a Wolf Priest. Good for character sniping or mass slaughter.

Wolf Lord

Terminator Armor

Belt of Russ

Wolf Tooth Necklace

Wolf Tail Talisman

Twin Thunderhammers.

Saga of the Warrior Born

Here's my Death Dealing Lord of Destruction:

Wolf Lord: Thunderwolf Mount, Wolf Claw, Storm Shield, Wolf Tooth Necklace, Wolf Tail Talisman, Saga of the Warrior Born

Hits everything on 3's, wounds MEQs and below on 3's, can reroll hits or wounds (usually reroll hits on T4 and below, wounds on T5 and above), has a 3++ save, a 5+ save against psychic powers, and with Warrior Born, he's guaranteed to be racking up attacks throughout the game. Send him into a chewy unit early on to "charge him up" by getting a lot of easy kills, and then unleash him on a harder unit next chance you get when he has like 10+ attacks.

Wolf Lord

Frost Blade

Storm Shield

Runic Armor

Thunderwolf Mount

Wolf Tooth Necklace

Saga of the Bear

This is what I run in my army all the time. He has earned many a great saga with this package. I run him w/ 2 TWC as "bodyguards".

How does he perform with all that and 5 TWC with 5 SS and 1 TH as backup? Expensive yes, but I Want to slay things! ;) Thus I ask... :(

well a few trygons, hive tyrants, mephistons, etc later... yeah they work really well. even if they are ultimately killed, they do so much damage and attract so much attention away from my GHs that he is always worthwhile.

I run the Thunderwolf Lord and take 2 TWC w/ TH/SS and meltabom/SS. that is more than enough killing power without sacrificing too many points.

Wolf Lord :

Frost Weapon

Storm Shield

Thunderwolf Mount

Saga of the Bear

Joins a packs of 10 - 15 ferisian wolves.

Soaks up a hailstorm of incoming fire until getting into CC ... then the murder begins ;)

Alternative enemy strategy. Ignore the unit until they get into CC, the slaughter the wolves and break the WL <_<

Wolf Lord

Jump Pack

Frost Blade/Plasma Pistol or Thunderhammer/Storm Shield.

Runic Armor

Belt of Russ(If going frost blade)

Melta Bombs(If going frost blade)

Wolf Tooth Necklace

Wolf Tail Talisman

Sage or the Warrior Born(frost blade)/Saga of the Bear(Thunderhammer)

Place in unit of Skyclaws with a Wolf Priest. Good for character sniping or mass slaughter.

if i were you thunderhawk 3015 i would give him the frost blade and storm sheild for charachter sniping. he would own any character he faces but perhaps not mephiston (vampire jesus) :D . with the wolf priest he would be re rolling failed rolls to hit so that was a good choice. i disagree with the Saga or the Warrior Born(frost blade) thing. i would give him saga of the bear if he wants to live long enough to collect that warbosses head ;)
