WIP Tycho

here is my attempt to make a Tycho and i thought i would represent his dead mans hand by showing the aftermath of him using his sneaky "rip the heart right out of his friggin chest" trick B)

head is not attached yet, so it wobbles around a bit, and i am at a loss as to how to make his mask, so i will just ignore it.

Another possibility if you do not want to GS a mask, is paint half the face gold, and put a very thin, but still visible line of dark brown bisecting the skin tone and the gold, and then a bit of mithril silver on the gold side (again very thin line) to simulate a raised edge.

Excellent pose and basing choice.

Other than mold lines and suggesting a small amount of gs on the shoulder pad trim, only real critique is that the orc's heart seems just a bit too large, especially compared to the hole in his chest.

hearts are pretty big, especially in physically fit creatures like athletes and warriors. he did the ol knife hand to puncture the rib cage, grabbed it and pulled it out. after that the hole kinda collapses again and a bunch of gore and blood will make it look okay i believe. i will try the painting suggestion for the mask and if it does not work out i will use another head since i will affix it once it is done. each time i picked the things up i found some mold lines which i have been working on, so i think that will be okay. the shoulder pad i will fix or paint it chipped from a bullet impact.

thanks for the critique though, i hope my paint job will do it justice.

Very very nice!

pose is spot on

I love what you did with the combi melta, the side mag to represent the extra ammo (I assume thats the reason) is a very nice idea!

dead ork on the base is sweet also!

for the mask, take your time and getting a good looking one using GS is pretty easy :D

Look forward to seeing it painted!

did a bit more work on my guy after getting some inspirations (thanks, blindhamster) and critique.

-did a mask that i am not unhappy about

-propped another rock under the orks foot

-straightened out the dangly bit on the wrist to conform with gravities pull.

time to prime and paint the dude, wish me luck :)

I dont know if its at all possible to alter (or if it even matters to you, because it doesnt detract from the model or it's awesomeness whatsoever) but the cloth between the ork's legs defies gravity.

he has a rigid metal plate in that loincloth <_<

(thanks for spotting that, but he is primed now and i will leave it like that)

here he is in all his gory glory ;)

i decided to do the shoulder pads in black, so if need be i can run him as DC tycho too.

hey hey, he came out rather nicely!

my only quibble would be the gold could use a little more depth, a carefully done glaze of devlan mud/leviathan purple works well. I'd add another highlight to some areas of the gold also :P

overall It looks very nice though man :) I still :) the bolter!
