blooddragon
Founding: 7th (230M33 Estimate) Geneseed: Blood Angels Color: Orange with Black Trim Symbol: Skull with Bat wings with dripping blood Current Chapter Master: Lucifer Kaine Founding: The Desolate Angels were brought to life as many chapters were at this time. Abaddon had already led his 1st and 2nd Black Crusade into the Imperium of man. These crusades exposed many of the weaknesses within the empires defenses. As with all foundlings the High Lords of Terra decreed that additional forces of Space Marines were needed. It is not clear why during this founding the Geneseed of Sanguinius was used when typically the ADMECH would use the of Guilium or Dorn as there primary sources but it was none the less. Cadre Members were selected from the Flesh Tearers. while it is well established knowledge now as to their barbarism and viciousness on the Battlefield at this time in history they were simply a successful successor chapter of the Blood Angels. S'ammiel Hayne was selected to be the first Chapter Master. He was a veteran of the 1st company and had distinguished himself in battle on hundreds of occasions. He was also know to be a very capable tactician whom was used as a consul for battle preparations many times by key leaders of the Flesh Tearers. S'ammiel asked permission and was granted to forgue the normal tradition of naming the chapter using the Imperial Tarrot. Instead S'ammiel wanted his new marines to embrace the fact that they are already dead. He chose to name his new Chapter The Desolate Angels, to emphasize there emptiness is because of the loss of their great Primarch Sanguinius. Only through the destruction of the forces of chaos can this hollow feeling be sedated. although the chapter has taken a highly aggressive crusader like stance, spending most of their time on their fleet, they were awarded a Homeworld near the Ghoul Stars known as Wordwood. Homeworld: Wormwood- this world was once a beautiful thriving world filled with great architecture and wondrous natural phenomenons. The people of Wormwood once had libraries that many believe pre-dated the great crusade. An unknown plague mysteriously spread across the world striking these once proud intellectual people with an insatiable hunger. This hunger drove most to the brink of insanity. The governments were torn asunder as mobs and gangs began to form and compete for the rapidly vanishing food sources. These war-bands began to become more and more ferocious while entire cities succumb to the fires of anarchy. Eventually the survivors under the whips of their warlords turn to cannibalism to quench there never ending hunger. When the Desolate Angels were awarded this world as its Homeworld all that was know was the world was in a state of constant anarchy. Additional Flaw: The senior brothers of The Desolate Angels were rather aggressive themselves. Finding that the inhabitants were violent cannibals was not a deterrence to them. The plague that affected the ancestors of the people of Wormwood had since been passed down genetically from generation to generation. The traces are so minute in candidates blood the Apothecaries of The Desolate Angels still have not discovered this as the true nature for the over aggressive nature of the Brother Marines. In fact they have focused on this nature being an acceleration of the flaw within their Geneseed and not a selection stock issue. In fact this flaw has helped to prolong the marines ability to delay the onset of the black rage. The Red thirst however seems to be aggressively accelerated by this unknown defect. The Desolate Angels over time transformed into a chapter that practices very ritualistic cannibalism of both there enemies and their own fallen. Because the insatiable thirst for blood has transferred into the Brothers, they are seemingly in a constant state of war to fill the void. Geneseed: The chapters Geneseed does appear to be very stable initially and there is a higher than normal success rate among candidates. This is necessary because to maintain their ranks they must constantly be recruiting. Currently The Desolate Angels maintain 8 companies and it has been over 2 millennium since they have been at full strength. Espada Azul
Hmm, nothing much to comment on right now, as there's only a short History, a description of the Homeworld, and some hints of geneseed instability exacerbated by traditions of their home-world. Well, except for composition, since it reads rather awkwardly. Run it through a spell-checker, and re-word some of the paragraphs?
