Blood Angels Characters WIP

I've started working on the characters for my Blood Angels army. I am in the process of building a Librarian, Reclusiarch in Terminator Armor and on Foot. I've also started hacking on Dante, but only have removed his original ax and in its place added one from the Sanguinary Guard box set.

I am happy with the way they are coming along, still have lots of work to do with the Librarian and the Reclusiarch in Terminator armor. The Marine on Foot needs a little green stuff work on his Crozius Arm to add the armor seal.

 

The Librarian started life out as Tigerius (older Model) after a quick trip through the band saw to remove most of his lower torso, I set to him with a jewelers saw to clean up the parts. I have yet to decide how I am going to remove and with what I am going to replace his Ultramarines Symbol on his chest with. A Green stuff tabard will be added on his front (since he has robes sculpted on his torso sort of have too...) and I waiting on some bits I order to get here to add his bolt pistol on.

Before anyone says anything, I have not touched mould lines or that annoying cat hair on the Iron Halo yet :teehee:

I got some more work done, did a bit of green stuffing (not that I am particularly good at it...), and primed one model. I finished the Reclusiarch on Foot and primed him. Not much changed from the version in the post above beyond adding the armor seal on the arm, and one additional purity seal on his left shoulder pad. I never have liked the excessive amount of stuff that GW sometimes puts on some of the models.

I got the loin cloth made for librarian. I re-did it twice before I got to this more simplistic style. I feel comfortable with the look as it conveys some movement, but i was not getting any good results trying to scuplt the more pleated style that was there originally.

I also cut began to cut up the arm from a Sanguinary Guard that will be holding a bolt pistol. I still need my bolt pistols to show up (I seem to only have chaos ones around.) and that part can be completed. As is, it is very WIP in that area.

 

The last thing I hacked apart was Commander Dante. Same idea as for the librarian, one pass through the band saw for major material removal and then to the jewelers saw to remove finer detail and hard to reach areas. I sculpted another clothe (more so to cover the length of the groin area as the new marines are much longer than this much older sculpt.) His ax felt and looked small compared the Guard around him, so that was removed and a Sanguinary Guard ax put in its place.

I will most likely redo the green stuff work on the front to give it a simpler look (like the Librarians) soon.

 

 

 

Overall I also came to the realization that a lot of these older models just don't look right with the new single engine jump pack, so I am grabbing some death company packs to use with all of the ICs (The yet to be built Sanguinary Priests, Dante, and the Librarian (which has Dante's pack already.)
