Grimtooth
I got to wondering the other day about dropping my Long Fangs unit to 4 LF with pack leader and attaching a rune priest to them so they would all fit in a razorback. The loss of one missile launcher to make room for the rune priest would be made up with his d6 Living Lightning hits. I would also keep Tempest Wrath on him to discourage enemy deep strikers from trying to alpha strike them. What do you all think? Maximus-92
Whats the point of putting the squad into a razor, i often BUY a razor but i don't put them in it. The razor has no firing slots so you can cast living lightning or shoot from it. It is just that I have had instances where I couldn't place my LF in terrain during deployment which would have made them being able to hitch a ride in a razorback first turn useful. Grey Mage
Yep, thats what Ill do- dawn of war deployment involves night fighting anyways, so Ill cruise forward and drop of the LFs- theyll run into a good firing position, and proceed to rock on. Simo429
I used to put my longfangs in a razorback until I realised that with the range of lascannons and ML's which is what I generally use I don't often need to move them post deployment Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204790-long-fangsrune-priest/#findComment-2442296 Share on other sites
Sarapham
I think you would be better off putting the RP in a rhino together with GHs or something, using the Rhino´s fire points to turn the rhino into a "Razorback" with a pimped autocannon. WG Vrox
My standard home objective holder is 5 GH with Melta, 1 WG with SB / PF and RP with LL and JoWW all in a Rhino. I put a PMSB on the rhino giving me 3 SB total a Melta and LL, pretty nice little unit that can run the front lines and dispell and psy attacks or hang back and hold a home objective. Of course I have to choose between SB or Melta but usually I am 20 inches or so back and make use of my WG SB. Melta used only if something breaks through my lines or deep strikes. MaleOpener
Long Fangs tend to attract a lot of incoming fire. As others suggested, stick him with a pack of GHs in some sort of vehicle. He'll be able to use his powers is relative safety. old git
In my footslogger wolves I usually attach a rune priest to the long fangs and give him living lightning and tempests wrath. As he's a member of the unit he can split fire with the rest of them. If there are multiple targets (usually light transports thesedays) I move him a couple of inches away and you can then engage three targets. When with the unit he bolsters the defence if assaulted. A chooser helps keep infiltrators away. To answer, a rune priest attached to the long fangs is a good idea Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204790-long-fangsrune-priest/#findComment-2442507 Share on other sites
