Mattsama
I know Psycho is not an independant character but can he be hidden in an honor guard if one is bought for him? I believe the answer is no, just looking for a quick confirmation. Also, I know the FNP aura works from within a vehicle. Can the same be assumed for a Banner on Sang Guard or HG in transport? Red Fury
Honor guards are totally seperate squads and not retinues. A character must be an IC to join one. You do measure from the hull for the area effects of models inside however, the chapter banner does not have an area effect for the +1 A modifier (it does have the 12" for rerolling failed morale tests though), it works only on the squad that holds it and any joined ICs. -Fury
Mattsama
Thanks for the answers RF. Does that mean that an IC in an Honor Guad can be picked out in CC, since it is not a retinue?? The moral test was what I was interested in. Parking a HG in a Razorback near a tac squad on a home objective... Something to think about... Red Fury
Yes all ICs can be singled out in CC, they are treated as two (or more) separate units when allocating attacks. -Fury
Mattsama
Additional questions: Can a Librarian with Sanguine Shield cast it while inside a transport? I keep seeing posts about a pair of lightning claws giving two attacks. Is this an old rule or am I missing something?
JamesI
Librarians can use Shield while in vehicles. Measure the range from the transorts' hull (imagine how large an area that is if he's in a StormRaven!) Ligthning claws can never get the +1 attack bonus for a second weapon, unless that weapon is another lightning claw. This is in the main rulebook on the close combat weapons page (can't recall the page number). Claws/thunder hammers/power fists all have this rule.
