Warsmith Aznable
I've finally got around to assembling the Heavy Support choices for my "no possessions or mutations Khorne flavored CSM army". It occurred to me that Berzerkers would probably have just as much fun using these metal behemoths to grind whole squads into paste as they would lopping off one head at a time in the axe gang. And I'm all about keeping my little guys happy: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip-happyberserkers004.jpg "YEEEEEEHAAAAAAA!!!!" I wanted my Defiler to be a driven walker instead of a possessed automaton. Like I said, I'm not so much into the possession or mutation thing. The CC Arm is magnetized, though I'm still trying to work out how to magnetize the twin-linked heavy flamers to mount on there. The twin-linked auto-cannons are magnetized too, because I eventually want to have all the available weapon options for this model. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip-happyberserkers001.jpg "CRUSH! GRIND! MASH!" http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip-happyberserkers002.jpg I just liked this angle, with the book and skulls on the one door and whatnot. I'm thinking about painting the left skull and part of the book as having been scorched by the las-cannons. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip-happyberserkers003.jpg I could have drilled the holes for those magnets, but I figure once they're painted they won't stand out and will probably look like part of the vehicle anyway. The sponsons and hatches on the sides are glued on, however. I put a bunch of magnets in one sponson and it just wasn't sticking the way I wanted it to. On top of that I was bored with drilling holes, having become frustrated with the aborted sponson project. (EDIT to change title to reflect my newer additions) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204939-my-csm-heavy-support-wip-other-current-projects/ Share on other sites
Vairocanum
haha, looks awesome, waiting to see more happy beserkers. :pinch: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204939-my-csm-heavy-support-wip-other-current-projects/#findComment-2444831 Share on other sites
sword brethren
http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip-happyberserkers001.jpg"CRUSH! GRIND! MASH!" "DRIVE ME CLOSER!! I WANT TO HIT THEM WITH MY AXE!!" adds a personal feel to them. though with the defiler, bezerkers love the feel of bones crunching in their hands and blood running down their arms so im not sure they would be happy stuck inside a metal box while their friends get the action. looks good though  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204939-my-csm-heavy-support-wip-other-current-projects/#findComment-2444996 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
though with the defiler, bezerkers love the feel of bones crunching in their hands and blood running down their arms so im not sure they would be happy stuck inside a metal box while their friends get the action. looks good though :D What I would like to eventually do is fiddle up a giant axe for the Defiler's CC weapon. I really don't like the flail things. I envision a Berzerker working a pair of levers and laughing maniacally as it makes the Defiler's giant axe butcher its way across the battlefield. :D Tactile sensations are cool and all, but I think to a true worshiper of Khorne that would be secondary, the primary thrill coming from the mass carnage. Besides, too much attachment to tactile stimulation, derived from chain axe beheadings or not, is dangerously close to Slaanesh cultism ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204939-my-csm-heavy-support-wip-other-current-projects/#findComment-2445366 Share on other sites
Yogi
I love the defiler. I can just imagine this is what happens when a berserker loses his legs.. Stick it in a defiler.. Great idea. Brother Anvilus
http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip-happyberserkers001.jpg"CRUSH! GRIND! MASH!" "DRIVE ME CLOSER!! SM version would be :: hehe, sorry, couldn't help it :) It was sitting here all the time, now I got a reason to put it online :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/204939-my-csm-heavy-support-wip-other-current-projects/#findComment-2445700 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
Changed the name of the thread for this: Since I'm doing the "no demons or mutants" thing, I wanted my Summoned Lesser Daemons to be "Cultist Troopers" instead. They act just like Lesser Daemons, appearing from out of the Warp to swing CCW at my enemies without regard for their own personal safety like the madmen they are, but I get to stay true to my homebrew army's fluff. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip2cultisttrooper001.jpg My regular CSM for size reference. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip2cultisttroops002.jpg These two are my favorites. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip2cultisttroops003.jpg And another thread in the Khorne CSM forum got me thinking about Khorne Jump Troops, so I did some: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip2jumpberzerkerchampion002.jpg This is the Champion with his power-sword and plasma pistol. Pics are cruddy because I had to adjust levels to bring out the detail on account of they're primered. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip2jumpberzerkerchampion001.jpg This is the same Champion with a regular bolt pistol and power-fist, because I got a bunch of magnets and I'm not afraid to use them! http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j91/montismo/wip2jumpberzerkertrooper001.jpg This guy is just a regular jump trooper, but I did cut the hand and reposition the chain-axe for a better pose. I cut off all those bunny ears so they wouldn't block the jump pack intakes, and then had a bunch laying around I felt I should do something with, so I incorporated a pair into the Champion's honor display. It was just a lark, but I it turned out well enough so I kept it like that.
