I just set up my entire Ultramarine army on a 6x4 table to take some pics.

These are the Space Marine apoc formations I own

Battle Company (4th Company)

Masters of the Chapter

Predator Assassin Squadron

Ancients Assault Force

and I'm 70% complete on the 1st company formation.

Good work there sir... reminds me of my Dark Angels army... also the 4th company... and errm 50% of the 1st company (but they are all in terminator armour!)... I don't bother with rhinos however as my PA marines sit in defence and Death wing takes objectives! Also get two more vindicators to help you get towards 10,000pts... you know you want a linebreaker squadron...

Truly magnificent models that have quality and quantity. I respectfully request 1000% more pictures of these to view them all in detail as its an awe inspiring collection that has made me want to complete the second company that I've been collecting for years.

Absolutely stunning force, theres something beautiful about armies of this size, all i'd like to see added is some real apoc sized super heavies or is that not something the smurfs go for? Not that clued up on loyalists, most seem to stick to bringing formations.

Thanks fellas.

I did it! I broke through the thin blue line of monotonous tank painting and completed the last 2 vindicators, adding the Line breaker formation to my apocalypse army brings the total to 9540pts! Less then 500pts to go :D :D :D

Here are a couple of quick snaps.

Yesterday I finished the new GW venerable dreadnought. It's a fantastic kit, really spoilt for choice on how you build it. I stuck pretty close to the box art for this one. I will be adding more in the future and will do some different ones then.

Brings the army total up to 9,715pts.

Ahhh, nothing pleases the eye more than a sea of blue shooty death :P

A fantastic looking army mate

I particularly like the look of your command squad, any chance of a closer look?

Also, the ven-dread is very well painted, although i think the plasma coils bring it down a bit, they seem too bright lol

Maybe add a few more washes to bring the colour down a bit and help differenciate between the raised parts?

Just an idea, your peinting looks a hell of a lot better than mine so I'm guessing you know what your doing :P

really nice.

like hellios i also have a full company of DA's (3rd company for me) plus aout 50+ temrinators for a deathwing army though only about 1/3 or the later are painted. i also have a ravenwing army in the making, plus a variety of extra tanks and dreads i want to add but seem to have lost the will to paint DA color schemes and am ending up starting a new chapter with some of them.

for the remaining points based on what you dont have you could go with:

whirlwind formation

some bikers

add some drop pods for your first company

Darn it - you're making me jealous. I want 10k Ultramarines, too!

Why... do you use a special recipe for painting them or do you just stick strictly to what GW says?

I'm planning on building an army of about the size of the Chaos Gate strike force, i.e. about 50+ Marines.

wow, that's a LOT of well painted dudes... usually when armies get this big people get lazy and dont do the details... but the weathering on the vehicles are all pretty awesome... how did you do the dust thing on the siege shield of the vindicators anyway?

one more thing... whoever painted the tyrant did an AMAZING job... that little bug is pretty! i'm more incline to be friends w/ it than set it on fire...
