Morticon
Plus, the BS 6 and Plasma cannon means that if you roll high enough on the scatter that the template misses, you can reroll the scatter dice too and still have the reduction in scatter apply the second time. So chances are very good that your template of doom will hit every single time. Thaaaats not entirely correct matey! But the other advice helps loads! thank you! Requiem of the Wolf
If your ballistic skill is 6,you are allowed to reroll your shot. Including the scatter distance dice. It is in the blast weapon rules. If you have the ability to reroll a to hit roll, you reroll the scatter dice. A ballistic skill of 6 allows you to reroll your to hit roll. Your ballistic skill reduces the amount your shots scatter. Simple chain of logic that makes Bjorn even more useful. nurglez
if your bs is 6, it gains a reroll whenever it rolls a 1 to hit with ranged attacks. rulebook pg 18. So, i would say this doesn't allow you to reroll the scatter I've been wanting to use bjorn too, but his hefty cost has put me off for the moment, though i shall use him one day im sure (I love dreads ;)) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205139-bjorn-the-fell-handed/page/2/#findComment-2481107 Share on other sites
LoneSniperSG
bjorn provides a great anti-tank fire magnet that could potentially be turned on a small army. in my shooting list bjorn is there to soak up all the lascannon, bright/dark lance, railgun attacks that i dont need attacking my small wolf guard squads. he serves me well. if you find different im sorry but i love my dread. Bjorn's awesomeness begins before the game does. We all remember the good ol' days where having a Ven Dread let us re-roll for our deployment area, and I'm sure we're all dissapointed to see that only Bjorn grants this rule now. Some people may moan at the Living Relic rule, but I like it, personally. If Bjorn takes a debilitating hit, move a squad of LF's or something squishy to him and camp them behind Bjorn for a nice cover save. LPetersson
I sometimes use him in games of 2500 points or above and definitely in 3000 point games. He can easily tie up a couple of squads and he pretty much always hits. He's harder than nails and I tend to use him about a 3rd of the way in from the edge so he can 'control' almost half the table... LoneSniperSG
I will say, Bjorn is one of the few Special Characters I would ever consider using. The sheer insanity of Lukas the Trickster, and devastation offered by Canis Wolfborn, and the stompage of Ulrik the Slayer make them the next of the few, but above them all is Bjorn. He is number one. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205139-bjorn-the-fell-handed/page/2/#findComment-2482006 Share on other sites
chino
I found him to be extremely useful thus far. In two 1500 pt games, I ran him alongside a Rhino full of GH and he practically feasted on Tau Railgun shots and asked for seconds. By turn five he became immbolised on the opposite flank I deployed him on and he stood around dropping flame templates on Fire Warriors. Not only did he make back his points, he kept the rest of my army safe from those twin-link Str 10 AP 1 slugs. The second game was a 2v2 3000 pt game (1500pts per player) teamed with the same Tau against CSM and IG. I kept him beside my two Long Fang squads and tore into a Slannesh flamer squad, an IG Vet squad and scared away a Valkryie. All the while protecting my Long Fangs, allowing them to pop a Leman Russ, two Valkryies and three Chimeras. Again making back his points and protecting mine. Try to use/proxy him atleast once, Bjorn's seemed very worth his hefty cost. Chalx the grey
I can't talk about competitive game because it is not my thing, but he is far from a liability. If he does fail, it is sucha game-changing event that you are likely to enjoy it a lot, even if you lose. Fearless wolves trying to recover Bjorn before the enemy captures his remains? Sign me in. I just posted a batrep showing exactly this here, on the Liber Victorum section. Check it out if you want!
