Brother-Captain Lucius Posted June 27, 2010 Share Posted June 27, 2010 Right so the basis of my 1750 list is 2 Squads of Jump Packing RAS with 2 meltas and hammers, RAS in Pod with 2 meltas and fist, RAS with 2 plasma guns with powerfist in Raider with EA and MM. I use 2 priests with JP's and a libby as well but that could change(the HQ anyway). So my question to ye is what would be the best support elements for my army for an all comers. Wax_Assassin Posted June 27, 2010 Share Posted June 27, 2010 I'm a big fan of the auto/las pred for dealing with enemy armor at long range (something the BA don't exactly excel at). RAS with 2 plasma guns with powerfist in Raider with EA and MM. you take a unit with rapid fire weapons in a LR .... specials weapons that wont let you charge after using for a unit that buys a 200+ points transport to have a ramp that lets them assault after moving... very odd. Whitefireinferno Posted June 27, 2010 Share Posted June 27, 2010 As far as Heavy slots go the Rifle man dreds are still great and pretty cheap too great for popping rhinos and chimera but kinda rubbish for anything bigger other than that its Baals for a fast slot of fast Vindis sure people cry that one weapon destroyed on the vindi makes it useless WRONG it then becomes a av13 front Scud missle with a 18 inch range useless I think not. Also Inferno I like those ideas of a strength 10 hit on someones armour if you go 18" mind you i did it twice with 2 auto las preds at an end of game turn on saturday to 1 Land raider both got 3 to pen and then subsequently both got immobilised from then bouncing off the raider ;) :lol: Also I think i will be facing a mech ish wolves Saturday too so can basically use proxies of anything. The only way this could work if you played against an army with 0 anti tank. But the A it would mean you played against bad armies and B razorback spam would cost more or less the same , but would give you more hvy weapons and more targets [and having more targets is always better , then hoping that a single av14 tank will survive]. WRONG it then becomes a av13 front Scud missle with a 18 inch range useless I think not. and with side armor not being 13 , this means they may well never get to shot as they are stuned/shaken/blown up all the time ,specialy if you dont get turn 1 . if take hvy support in an army that doesnt have a lot of range anti tank in troops [like IG for example] then one should always take those who cant be stoped by a single stun.
