perfectionist
Hi again all, just finished my whirlwind and like usual I'd like to share the results with you. I tried to give it the looks as if it drove through a lot of mud. For this I used the stuff you normally fill holes in your wall with (putty?), which I painted in browns with different shades afterwards. Now for the pics, enjoy and as always C&C is much appreciated. Cheers, Perfectionist http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af151/fiddler6291/whirlwind/P6251834_klein.jpg http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af151/fiddler6291/whirlwind/P6251835_klein.jpg http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af151/fiddler6291/whirlwind/P6251836_klein.jpg http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af151/fiddler6291/whirlwind/P6251837_klein.jpg http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af151/fiddler6291/whirlwind/P6251839_klein.jpg http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af151/fiddler6291/whirlwind/P6251840_klein.jpg http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af151/fiddler6291/whirlwind/P6251843_klein.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205194-da-whirlwind/ Share on other sites

JD_Jess
Love the weathering, my Ultra 3rd Co got two, what did you use as the brace for the spare missle? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205194-da-whirlwind/#findComment-2448403 Share on other sites
perfectionist
Thanks for the nice comments! Love the weathering, my Ultra 3rd Co got two, what did you use as the brace for the spare missle? I just used two standard bits that come with the whirlwind kit. I think they are supposed to be hooks to put on the front and back of the vehicle. Cheers! Zeller
The mud looks really good especially on the front end. I'm curious why there is live ordnance on top of a combat vehicle though. Hehe it certainly isn't practical, however I did want to make the model a bit more appealing by adding some color to the top and breaking the symmetry. I did have the same concerns while I was trying to find a nice place to add the missle btw, I justified it by telling myself that a whirlwind is mobile artillery which should not be in a direct line of fire anyway, but should stay behind the front line troops.
