Ranwulf
Hey fellas, I am building my Space Wolf army and I was researching for interesting Space Wolf Lords. Now, I like the idea of using one as a Thunderwolf Lord, but I would also like using him as a normal Space Wolve lord with Wolf Guard. So, I found him: http://privateerpress.com/files/products/MorraigMtdClipped.png What you think fellas? Would this guy be a Wolf Lord? I wanna know because he might not be wearing a Power armor. Ail'Slath'Sleresh
I agree with whitewolfmxc, the wolf head looks like that of a rat... its front legs dont look very dog like either but I always thought of that as a cool model regardless :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205223-you-think-this-guy-passes-as-a-sw/#findComment-2447640 Share on other sites
Freman Bloodglaive
Fear my mighty rat of DOOOM!! It's a nice model and of course you could use it as a Wolf Lord, but to be honest it doesn't really scream "Wolf!" Grey Mage
On foot- yes. Mounted? Like others have said, it looks like a giant riding rat. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205223-you-think-this-guy-passes-as-a-sw/#findComment-2447691 Share on other sites
Firedrake28
I think it's fine. The mount does look more like a rat than a wolf, but I wouldn't worry about it much. Heck, you could even crack jokes about the Wolf Lord having a Thunderrat mount and laugh as it kills everything. Quillen
I used the model for my ThunderWolf Cav. it's a little under scale. The model is too small for 40. Still it looks pretty good. Lord Howland Greywolf
Eh, could be used as...I don't know...Egil the short. He's a little bundle of rage and lunacy. And rides a wolf to compensate. Lord Ragnarok
The head and legs are terrible on the mount IMHO. Just looks like giant rat vermin. The rider could probably pass but I'd try and com vert him with some more PA pieces. Freman Bloodglaive
He's large compared to the old metal terminators, but he is smaller than the new plastics. Since I only have the older models he's fine for me. DapperDave
I use this model and I have to say, the photo you linked doesn't do it justice. The angle it's taken at, you miss the fact that the lower jaw extends more (as from front on it blends in with the body). Yes, the wolf's a little short, but I minimized that by adding some rocks under him. http://i997.photobucket.com/albums/af93/DapperDave42/Space%20Wolves/Mounted%20Wolf%20Lord/DSC_0161.jpg http://i997.photobucket.com/albums/af93/DapperDave42/Space%20Wolves/Mounted%20Wolf%20Lord/DSC_0163.jpg With my Logan for size reference: http://i997.photobucket.com/albums/af93/DapperDave42/Space%20Wolves/Mounted%20Wolf%20Lord/DSC_0160.jpg I use him every game, and no one has ever said he looks like he's riding a rat - especially after he murders all of their troops choices.
