Brother Grunt
So this past friday I got a call from a buddy that said he was having a "Leaving State" sale so he had everything priced to move or was willing to bargin over the price and payment style. So after finding this out I promptly proceeded over to his place to take a look. So after about 10 minutes of looking through his various items he metions that he has a few titans for sale. O ne of them being a warhound "jackel" pattern and eldar "phantom" class titan. After some hangling and quick trip to the bank which I'm sure I broke several speeding limits / traffic laws in the process I walked out the brand new owner of a forge world warhound titan for only $250. With only the legs and feet partially assembled and the unpainted I felt like I got a heck of deal. :P So now the long path of assembly is ahead of me and all I can say is "Holy Emperor's Monkey wrench!" what a complex model! And the instructions for it are a joke at best, all be it a very bad joke. So apart from blowing up pictures on the forge world website and studying those. Can anyone out there give some useful pointers on assembling this bad boy? http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d71/AlaskanGrunt/40k/S6300879.jpg (edited to add picture.) mega_marines
Building my pair of Warhounds(As well as my friends one), I can tell you that your best bet is to dry-fit EVERYTHING. That way you know what will need filing early on. That being said, it's ok to feel like an idiot assembling it at first, so you can dry-fit everything together that looks like, and fits like it should go together. Even the instructions on the FW site are spectacular, despite being vague looking. Just take your time with the model, and you'll do just fine. Brother Grunt
The dry fitting is a real big help though I still have some pieces that I have not a flip'n clue where they go so I'm going to get some pictures and see if someone can I.D. what they are and where they go. Here some update photos on my progress. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d71/AlaskanGrunt/40k/S6300881.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d71/AlaskanGrunt/40k/S6300880.jpg The upper torso and arms are fully magnetized though I think a 11lbs pull magnet was a bit too much for the torso - waist socket.
