Just thought of something... if these guys are obsessed with change, then I don't see them working well with Ace D's peeps

To be honest, though I haven't spoken to Ace about this, I see them getting along simply cause the Changelings need somewhere to hide/ use as abase and the RLs need/ like to use the info the Changelings can give them. However, I see a lot of distrust between them simply cause the RLs are up and down Undivided and these guys aren't.

Also, I thought of this as a Warband badge:

Thoughts?

Especially as it's given me a hankering to do my own IT now....although I should finish my IA first

I'm glad I can inspire someone ;) why not do both?

As the ancient Terran saying goes:"Keep your friends close, keep your enemies even closer" ;)

I like the symbol, although perhaps the rings could be intertwined at random? (Not like the Olympic rings though)

As for my doing an IT, it may help me to be honest, as I currently have no idea how to proceed with the IA (espeically as I tend to over think things ;) )

A little time away from Imperials and re-embrace Chaos (I'm a RT era Black Legion player) may do me some good ;)

You really do have a thing about names with of in the middle. Slightly off-topic but do you announce yourself as Ferrata (or your real name, which ever floats your boat) of Derbys? That said, I do like Sons of Change.

Nah, I am a traditionalist so Ferrata, son of Dagada, son of Amrith etc...

I think the circles shouldn't be circles, that is too perfect for change. Make them strange shaped eclipses.

Nine circles - I bet that wasn't an accident. ;)

As long as the warband's intel is good, the Rift Lords won't have a problem with your boys. ;)

On an individual level the Rift Lords might not get along well with the Changelings - but wouldn't it be dull if they did? :P

I don't think they should have any chapter badge at all. Constantly changing forms of tzeenchian symbols should be all that you need. Or simply any symbol that is made up of nine components. If their armour itself is constantly in flux as you describe above then their symbol should be no different.

Having any dedicated sybol is too close to the 'labelling' you go into above with rank and structure.

That's not a bad idea, actually. An ever-changing suit of armour wouldn't neccesarily keep the same badge for more than ten minutes straight anyway.

As far as alternative names go, how about 'The Changeborn?' As in; only after being marked by Big T with a never-ending desire for change are they truly born.

It's certainly nothing to do with crossing over The Changelings and The Unborn, regardless of what vile and false rumours you might hear.

Firstly, I like Changeborn.

Secondly, apologies for lack of updates - they are coming, hopefully tomorrow. But, having just started a job that involves using a PC for eight hours a day, I haven't been inclined to get home and sit in front of another PC. Hence the lack of updates.

All I'm hearing is, "Blah, blah, blah, I'm letting down the Lord of Change." :)

On the name front, err.... not much comes to mind.

Vicissitude?

It means change. Perhaps a verb or noun that itself means 'change' would be apt, given their propensity for change, necessary or not.

Eh, terrible suggestion. I'm not great with names usually. The Blazing Sons are the best I've come up with really.

I'd like to see more of these lads, is there any 'change' on the horizon?

Firstly, I like Changeborn.

Awesome.

I'm not honestly sure how I arrived at that name, it just popped into my head. ;)

Although, suddenly I suspect the interference of Big T. :P Time for the tin-foil hat and all that wacky stuff. :P

The obvious answer is to update this from work. :P

I'd recommend using Bacofoil, it's very effective ;)

Thanks for the advice.

I tell you what though, it looks damn weird having this silver stuff wrapped around my beakie hat - but whatever keeps the Chaos Gods away works for me. <_<

That's where you're going wrong. The silver stuff goes inside, so that the Beakie hat retains it's streamlined looks ;)

'Laughs quietly in the background, then goes back to writing a sacrifice to Tzeentch'

Seems like DIY multiverse in the side bar ;)

I do wonder about calling it the Changelings home planet, when they don't even reside there. Perhaps one of the defining characteristics of their Fortress Monastery being dedicated to the Lord of Change is that it CAN survive there, constantly changing and mutating as a structure, letting it survive the dangerous and unpredictable world. Wouldn't that make it the ultimate base of operations?

Other than that, I really have nothing to comment on. It's very good.

  • 2 weeks later...

Added in the Origins section, otherwise I got nothing new. It's WIP so be nice. ('Haha, as if' I hear you cry)

But I have taken your comments on board, and I am slowly working on editing the current sections and adding the beliefs section (and yes, I realise this is the MOST important section in the entire article). Honest :)

Anyway, C&C welcome.
