Let's discuss what Arjac has killed recently

So the other day I played a 2v1, 2000 pts vs 1k+1k. My wolves, my buddy's eldar versus some chaos scum

not going to do a full battle report, just arjac's part in it. Annahilation game. Killpoints

 

I brought my boy arjac with a gh hunters pack of 10 w/ meltagun x's 2, wolf standard (and a rune priest tagged along)

these guys were pretty epic. they got charged by a squad of zerkers and a khorne lord from a land raider. i had activated my wolf totem. only lost one gh on the charge. the grey hunters and RP killed all but three zerkers, arjac killed the lord.

(can the gh squad attack the zerkers if arjac attacks the lord?)

i almost felt bad for the chaos scum when I owned him. looked like his gf had just broken up with him.

 

The next turn I blew up that land raider with the meltas and arjac's hammer, then with that gone I charged and killed a defiler. pretty nice turn for arjac and company. (and my RP died because he charged too and got smooshed. error on my part)

 

then they were able to come support a blood claw squad and dire avenger squad that had been locked in combat with a plague marine squad, then got charged by 2 10 man squads of CSM with nurgle. I forgot how it happened, but I think my blood claws fell back, then charged with arjac and the gh's. those were two dead squads of traitor scum.

 

game over, wolves win. arjac is sweet. post ur arjac exloits.

 

one more question, do you think it is worth it to transport a squad like that in a land raider, or do you think footslogging is adequate?

I typically run Arjac with 10, Double melta, Standard, and MoTW in a Redeemer. It's awesome.

 

Arjac as the only consistent hand to hand fighter in my army at Ard Boyz. - Which included Logan, Ragnar, Rune Priest, and a TW Lord as well.

 

Arjac killed squad after squad in all my games. The standard makes him an invincible terror for 1 round.

 

He is pricey. You can get 2 Lone Wolves kitted out for his price alone but I can't deny, he has rarely failed me.

I love Arjac! The last game I played him was against Tau, he ended up coming out of my landraider and throwing his hammer making their transport explode and then the unit swiftly made work of a unit of Fire Warriors. The next turn Arjac's unit took some casualties due to fire and on my turn returned the favor by assaulting my opponent's unit of crisis battlesuits. After that he was in the open for 2 turns, and I believe I made somewhere around 40 saves. This is the third time I've used Arjac against this opponent and he seems determined to kill him one of these days.

That's great! I view arjac as almost indestructable and packs such a punch. 5 str ten attacks on the charge. that's a dead anything (except a farseer who passes every invul, not starting that rant now)

 

It seems like you two have a lot of success with placing arjac and his unit in a land raider? What land raider do you think compliments arjac the best? Crusader or redeemer? And plead your case. I see saphius already said Redeemer. But why?

I am pretty happy with my LRC /MM/EA, 10 GH 2 melta, Standard, MotW, Arjac, 1 WP WTN and/or depending on point level a bare bones Rune Priest with SC and MH. bit of a god unit but its my spear head unit and between the EA and SC seems to get me where I am going most of the time.

 

Other than the obvious troop capacity issue, I like the 24" ranged fire power and with the AC/MM I can deal with light to heavy armor. To often with the Redeemer I am either going to fry my own troops or I am only able to use one template as I rarely am able to get in a position to use both. Not that 1 flame-storm cannon is a ugly thing.

 

In the end I feel the LRC is better able to stay close and support my troops while the LRR has to go off and do its own thing.

A few of the people I play with play horde armies so I usually use the Redeemer. Like stated above, 10 man Grey Hunter squad, 2x Melta, Powerfist, Wulfen, Standard, and Arjac. Some time I will do Blood Claws for the extra attacks on the charge.
