Rhodric
Sorry for such a basic question, but I'm a bit fuzzy on how to model lightning claws. Where are you folks getting yours? And how are you attaching them? The Terminator lightning claws look a bit big. I was considering the Space Wolf Claws, but am not sure if the "bone emblems" can be easily cut away. Thanks for the help! Rho Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205337-lightning-claws/ Share on other sites
JamesI
There is a blister of a veteran model with a pair of claws, and if you only need one claw the Commander box set has a left armed claw. vahouth
IIRC all the plastic claws are left hand ones. Still there is a veteran with 2 metal ones click and another one with a right claw 2nd click that you can combine with a plastic one that you can find here Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205337-lightning-claws/#findComment-2449123 Share on other sites

fivepointedstar
alternatively there is one of the sword brethren model with a cape and nice looking crusader armor and a bit easier to file down maltese crosses. and he's a charging pose model nice for BA players. Or captian shrike with a nice emblem swap, and a optional head change. Fidelis
Although not a Blood Angel, i modeled by Black Templar Marshal with a pair of Claws using the left one that the commander sprue has, and the right one with one of the wolf claws from the Space Wolves sprue. I just asked one from a gamemate wich plays puppys. The right one came with Space Wolf regalia, but it is not difficult to scrape it off. To finish, i added a small cross on top from our holy orbs (i am sure, with all your new shiny sprues, you can come up with something like this). Fidelis. BLACK BLΠFLY
You can use the plastic terminator claws. First clip off the lightning claw right at the elbow. Next take a powered arm and also clip it off right at the elbow as well. File them both down to get a solid fit & finally you glue them together. I have used this approach several times and it looks quite good in my opinion. Very easy to do and all you need is a plastic sprue with the lightning claws from the assault terminator kit. 0b :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205337-lightning-claws/#findComment-2449497 Share on other sites

toaae
I used the Space Wolf ones, which worked well, despite the fact that I had to cut/file the icons off. Though, next time I want some lightning claws (coughVanguardcough), I'll be trying BO's idea. Paulochromis
Find someone who fields Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield Assault Terminators. They will have 5 matching pairs of plastic lightning claws (without shoulder pads attached) available. Small amount of filing/tweaking required. alternatively, you can metals ones at GW Bitz, but these have the shoulder pads included, so more work required. Cheers, Paul. General Ravensong
For my JP lightning claw HQ I clipped and filed down some dark elf spears and glued them on the back of a pair of power fists, most people seem to like them, I can provide pics later if you'd like Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205337-lightning-claws/#findComment-2452573 Share on other sites

Chaplain Hiltraud
I just tried the method Black Orange mentioned and it looks great. I was lucky enough however to have a heap of spare power armour arms so it was easy to chop and choose how I wanted to pose them on the model. I wouldn't try this if you don't have many bits. Zid
I stole space wolf claws from my friend, cut off the skulls on em, and glued the angel wing emblem you get in the DC box to it... works fine. Not the best mod, but works! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205337-lightning-claws/#findComment-2453084 Share on other sites
