Bergtorp
Hi. I'm now working on a small diorama and want to hear what you guys think. The setting is that during a battle between traitor and loyal marines gets overwelmed by the Tzzentch bastards. Just as the pair of traitors close in for the confirmed kill a legion of the damned shows up. I'm thinking of placing a plaq saying "Didn't see that one coming." What do you think? I'm working hard at making the sword blade and hand with gs and it's going slow. :) Overall pictures: http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i202/Bergtorp/DSC_0161.jpg Back-handed-stab-to-traitor: http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i202/Bergtorp/DSC_0167.jpg Brains blown out: http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i202/Bergtorp/DSC_0170.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i202/Bergtorp/DSC_0172.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205350-rescue-diorama/ Share on other sites
Montuhotep
Oh I like this idea! :) This is going to look superb when it's done and such an evocative backstory - considering the blue of the Sons and the black of the Legionnaire, what colour is the victim Marine going to be? I'd suggest red to make a contrast with the other two. He doesn't have to be a Blood Angel, you know - they have the Sanguinor for this kind of thing. How about the Sons of Orar? The back-hand stab is quite fun. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205350-rescue-diorama/#findComment-2449277 Share on other sites
Bergtorp
Thanks. I haven't made up my mind on the wounded marine yet. What I also planned on doing is a white glow effect centerned on the wounds on the traitors, signifing the small protective aura the Tzeentch recieve. Brother Rathul
The blade is not far enough in the sorcerer to hurt him but it's still awesome. Can we have a picture of the two space marines? More chaos space marines charging the two space marines would be cool as well if they are getting overrun. I wouldn't say being overun by two guys is being overrun at all. This definetly has potential! Brother Rathul Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205350-rescue-diorama/#findComment-2449299 Share on other sites

Grand Admiral Thrawn
I think the plaque should say "Aid Unlooked For." Also at least two more Chaos Marines (dead or alive) would make the diorama more dynamic and epic. Bergtorp
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i202/Bergtorp/DSC_0168.jpg Does this help? I have cut the blade so that it stabs the traitor in the throth. I was thinking about puting several marines around, charging or dying, but thought that seing as they are tzeentch they couldn't see that the damned marine was coming. This is supposed to be a quite static diorama. Captured the instance after the bolt round detonated, the heartbeat before the corpses fall. Tropicana
Nice Diorama. It'll look sweet when Painted. Finish it off by adding some Battle Rubble - Helmets, Bolt Guns, Empty Magazines - and, of course, Painting it! That Plaque idea sounds Fantastic! Also, if you use a Bolter Right Arm, you might be able to position it on the Tzeench Guy - the one being Stabbed - as though he's trying to grasp the sword, push it away from him. :D One Minor Issue, though, is that from the View we have, it kind of looks like the LoTD Guy is executing the Loyalist. :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205350-rescue-diorama/#findComment-2449656 Share on other sites
Bergtorp
That's just the picture. He is aiming straight for the other traitors head. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205350-rescue-diorama/#findComment-2449703 Share on other sites
Tropicana
Oh, okay. :D As for the Chapter of the Wounded Marine, I vote Crimson Fists, as he has a Power Fist. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205350-rescue-diorama/#findComment-2449711 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
Very nice diorama, I agree about adding a couple more traitor marines. Also I don't think his sword would need to go that deep to make a fatal cut in the sorcerer's neck. jpwyrm
Nice start on that diorama. A good idea combined with good execution and planning... this could go far IMO. As for the wounded marine, though I'm a Crimson Fists fan myself, I think that : A) you'll have enough blue already with the Thousand Sons and  it would be too dark (Thousand Sons medium to dark blue, LoD black...) So I think you should go for a brighter shade of colour on the fallen brother. Red would be a nice contrast, but other bright tones should do it too. Might be a good idea to weather this chap pretty much and keep the weathering to a minimum on the others - again to emphasize the contrasts. Anyways, just my two cents, keep up the good work! Tropicana
Good point! In that case, Imperial Fists. Yellow, Red Cape, Red Power Fist. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205350-rescue-diorama/#findComment-2449904 Share on other sites
Arnil
White Scars! Red accents with White base! After all the blues and black white will be a nice change of pace and really make the dead/injured marine stand out. Obliterator
A very nice diorama so far. I think one thing you need to consider is what is going to be the centerpiece of your diorama, where will the eye be drawn to? It could be the pictures, but as it is right now, the centerpiece is the injured marine on the ground. The Chaos marines and AotD are placed on the edges, indicating they're there more for the atmosphere. Placing the AotD trooper more central and/or adding more bodies towards that are dynamically posed towards the AotD would bring the focus more to the 'helping hand' Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205350-rescue-diorama/#findComment-2450243 Share on other sites
