Krak vs Frag: Which one is more effective against MEQ?

Hello all.

I just bought some more Missile Launcher bits for my Long Fang squad, and got a question about effectiveness of two Missile that can be launched.

Krak missile has lower AP, and higher S, but only fire single shot per turn

Frag missile has higher AP, and lower S, but can possibly hit more models.

I thought against Sv 2+ models Frag missile gonna be more effective (since both missiles don't have sufficiently low AP, but Frag affect more models), but I'm

not really sure against MEQs, like Sv 3+ models.

Anyone favors/have experience reguarding this issue?

I krak everything MEQ

Frag GEQ

I use Krak Missiles on Guardsman...just because it is funny.

I also use Lascannon's on Guardsman sometimes,if there isn't anything else to shoot.

I just really enjoy the idea of Overkill...and it is hard to get better then that.

Frag 2+ saves if you can, but I krak 3+ all the time. Some people get better results with the template, Id rather just kill on a 2+.

Ditto, I don't see the point in frag on marines. With 4+ to wound and 3+ to save there's really little success with frag missiles.

I frag only when I find them bunched up. For instance: they get popped out of a transport. With a a decent number of missiles you have a chance to do some serious damage to the squad.

In the case where you can't stack many wounds or the squad is too small I krak.

Statistically, if you get 5 power armour marines under the frag template you will likely cause as many casualties as you would with a krak missile (0.83). If you get 6 Marines under the template you will cause more (1.00).

If the Marines are standing in 5+ cover, then the krak missile will statistically cause less casualties (0.55) than if you got 4 Marines under the template (0.66).

If the Marines are standing in 4+ cover, then the Krak missile will statistically cause less casualties (0.41) than if you got 3 Marines under the template (0.50).

(Of course, this is disregarding the probability of not hitting the intended target in the first place.)

You shouldn't disregard that though. The chances to hit are quite different. But in reality the odds of even getting more than two are low against anyone that knows how to spread out is unlikely.

So, basicly, Krak em, unless they are in cover (because how in the world are you going to get 6 marines under 1 template without them having deep striked and chosen not to run?) in which case you Frag em. That's actually quite handy to know, since i use owh... 15 ML in my SW list
