bushman101
Reading through these forums, I always see people mention that any one vehicle is better in pairs. Why is this? I figured that diversifying your options would be better (ex: Predator and Vindicator vs 2 Vindicators). Can someone explain this? Lynnean
becuase you got 2 the same powers; wich can work on flanks. so it's easier to use together, the say a Large Blast vindicator and a Dakka BAAL. Zeller
Having two of the same vehicle also doesn't help your opponent when it comes to target selection. Does your opponent shoot the vindy on the left or the right? Well, it doesn't matter because as long as you shoot one of them the other will roll up and blast your  It is also a matter of weapon synergy when the units are working together. Having a vindy and a dakka pred working together is fine for infantry hunting but if the enemy presents an armored vehicle the vindy will shine while the destructor either finds another target or sits. There is certainly nothing wrong with this though because there is nothing prohibiting the two vehicles from operating independently. But, when the point is redundancy and making your opponent's choices have less of an impact having two of the same vehicle is a plus. Leonaides
Because for marine armies, 2 of a kind tend to complement each other better than 2 different ones. Consider - a pair of vindies. Whichever 1 your opponent targets, he's still going to be wary of advancing his expensive squad into range. 2 long range AC/Las preds would work better together to destroy light or heavy vehicles, but 1 of those preds and a Whilrwind wouldnt work as well together even though they're both long range weapon systems. A single Baal might be able to destory an enemy unit, but hten be vulnerable to another unit that could assault it, but a second baal could target that second unit to defend the first one, or take over when the first one gets destroyed. Put simply, its the same reason why having 2 lascannons is better than 1 las and 1 heavy bolter. SamaNagol
That and Fast Vindicators effectively have a 2+ invulnerable save in close combat. Needing 6's to hit them as opposed to 4+ with absolutely no drawbacks is beautiful. Running 2 of them together also helps protect their exposed side armour. If you run them close enough together you can confer cover saves and deny shots at side armour. Couple that with the Shield of Sanguinius librarian power conferring a 5+ cover save to everything within 6" and you can really make those light tanks survivable. Blood Angels innate bonuses really do work well with Vindicators.
