Neff
Hi, im new to the forum and new to the Thousand Sons. I recently bought a Ironclad Dred. to convert and realized just as quickly as i had paid the clerk.... that i had no idea how to paint it. I know mostly blue but the details elude me. I also have a question on my Soulgrinder I have the fleshy and armor bits done and such, but the main Defiler body i can figure out, how should the color scheme work for the both of these. Im using the same colorscheme as the box of Thousand Sons (the blue, gold, silver and yellow). thank you for any comments and sorry for the bother. Montuhotep
No bother at all, the only daft question is the one that you don't ask. As far as the Defiler goes then I bow to someone else's' superior knowledge, but the colour scheme for a Sons Dread is best summed up by how Forge World have painted theirs: T-Sons Dread Although theirs has a lot of detail already moulded into the hull, which the Ironclad does not have, the colours work well together, as you can see. Now, although the Chaos Dex doesn't include an Ironclad as an option for a Chaos player, it DOES let you have twin Dread Close Combat weapons, so it fits from that side of things. Of course, there's equally nothing to stop you saying these are Tzeentch-worshipping recent renegades. Have fun! SquigBait
Yup. Gold and lapis blue for pretty much everything. Take a look at Egyptian artwork for further inspriation. Neff
Thanks very much. I plan on making most of my armies fluff to be less of a true T-Sons army and more of a large warband that reveres their remaining Rubric Marines, painting their armor alike and caring for the empty marines like a Tech Preist cares for a Dreadnaught. For the Ironclad I'm planning on using the extra spiky bits from my CSM squad since I wont be using most of it. After that I think I'll have a plan on how to paint all of it. As for the Soul Grinder, I still have no idea. The reason I chose the Ironclad is because of the two CC arms. I love the drill! Neff
Holy crap! Wow, I feel so inadequate now. However, seeing all of that makes me just want to work harder.
