undeadfilth
I just realized that you can take a 10 man squad of sternguard with combi-meltas in a drop pod and combat squad them after landing! thats 2 high priority armor/ mcs neutralized! Brother Belgae
335pts is a bit pricey for a suicide unit don't you think?
the jeske
costs less then two transports/tanks , specialyif you have an alfa strike build in mind and those guys coming out of transports get hit by flamerstorm baals that just moved 24" and still fire everything [and have smokes on]. Leonaides
Or you could use 6 combi-meltas, split into 3 CM;s in each combat squad, and still probably toast both units, and have 40 points for other things... There is a level at which you pass useful redundancy and start overspending... And thats usually when you get your backside handed to you.
Whitefireinferno
With my C:SM list I prefer the 5 combi meltas and 5 combi plasma with Pedro in a drop pod blow the trans with the meltas then plasmafie the unit that comes out and have pedro in that group Or if you really want the 5 plasma can pop a rhino or razorback in a pinch if they get a rear armour shot then hopefully play the powpowpow with the ap3 bolts, But with My Ft Ive had some great success with my Pyro SG in a Razor with TL heavy flamers and the SternGuard decked out with 2 heavy flamers and 2 combi flamers and the sarge with a combi melta normally with a Sang preist with a Power weapon and Flamer pistol nothing scares Orks more that flesh tearers with Fire. glayvin34
I agree that it's pretty expensive for a suicide squad, so the obvious solution to that is to not make it a suicide squad, which is easier with C:BA that it is with C:SM. Scouting Baals, scout bikes, other drop pods, fast movin' storm ravens and things like that will probably get your enemy to split his fire and your expensive Sternies will survive. And maybe some day the Blood Angels will trade some of their precious jump packs for a Land Speeder Storm or two.
