Wolf Scout Squad size

I've got enough models for a unit of 10 Wolf Scouts, but haven't decided on if I should make them in 2 units of 5 or a full unit of 10. Which is the best squad size to go for as I'll mainly use them for tank hunting

Part of this decision depends upon what you intend to do with the rest of your Elite slots. If you don't plan on running a Lone Wolf, or a Dreadnought, then I would recommend 2 packs of 5 - the redundancy helps when you roll bad for Reserves (one pack doesn't come in until late Turns) or when you roll bad for BEL (and don't come in where you want to). It is nice to have a backup. As an added bonus if they do both come in on time, and where you want them, then you might just get to destroy two enemy vehicles right away instead of just the one.

Only use the full unit of 10 if you want them to be able to destroy a tank first, then you plan on having them go after the enemy rear-guard infantry (like Devastators, etc.)

I've been running an all-corners pack of 6 models (Meltagun, PW, Wulfen) + Wolf Guard w/TH and combimelta. They tend to pop up some armor on the turn they come out and then proceed with causing havoc behind enemy lines. In my axperience, they tend to whittle during the next couple of turns, since they get some serious attention for what they do. I am now expanding this pack to include 10 models with WG and will give them a second PW. For what they can do - they are just sheer brutal. I can't afford running them in two packs, since I've yet to decide whether I like dreads or LW more.
Thank you for all the help guys, definatly going to run with a 10 man unit with 2 Power Weapons and a Meltagun with a WG with frost blade + MB attached seeing as I can see them being shot at heavily when they come onto the board

Just don't forget that with frost blade You are unlikely to pop anything serious in terms of armor, while with Power fist or Thunder hammer You get more attacks than with MB. And You can take on some serious creatures with them as well.

Luckily I can still pull the sword off the WG so can swap it over, or will try to pin it so i can swap it

Charge them into something when they come onto the table (depending of course on what you shoot at when you arrive, etc, etc.) to keep them from getting shot at. For Wolf Scouts, getting into close combat is a form of protection.
