masterchief4312
i recently bought a bunch of space wolves and am painting them a different color than the traditional colors. however, as i was painting, i realized that about half my guys have stuff that distinghuishes them as space wolves (pelts, necklaces, crazy hair, etc.), while about half look like regular space marines. is this ok that not all my guys have wolf pelts and things like that? or do they all need to have wolf items? Brother-Captain Lucius
apparell on minatures doesnt really matter but does help a lot when distinguishing armies. My own Space Wolves (last Ed) are mixed like yours. Freman Bloodglaive
Going back to second edition, the Grey Hunter box mixed obviously Space Wolf marines with ones that looked more conventional. The Blood Claws meanwhile did have a full complement of specifically Space Wolf models. Â My Space Wolves tend to be mixed too, there's some Space Wolf parts, Chaos, conventional marines... it's a bit of a bitz-fest. muadib02
My space wolves are a hybrid of tactical marines and fantasy chaos warriors. Its all real random. MaleOpener
As long as they can be easily identified as a SW, you're fine. Â The Company totem and pack markings usually does it. Requiem of the Wolf
I have found that having the bare heads and the wild hair does wonders for identifying my Wolves. You can also get a couple pieces of Wolf Bling to put on them if you are that worried. But honestly, just having the helmets off does it really well in my opinion. Night Runner
As already mentioned above, there is no need for pelts, wolf tooth necklaces, etc, but I think they look cool and make the models more characterful in a Space Wolf sort of way. So I add even more pelts, WTN, & WTT than there is already on the models. Jonas Stromclaw
I personally keep as little 'bling' on my models as possible and they only go bare headed if I have no other helmets. People still have no trouble recognising them as space wolves. Maybe its the axes?
