This is my Chapter Master for my DIY Nova Hawks Chapter. Armed with a combi-plasma, and a power weapon.

That is a NICE model, not too keen on the helmet but everything else is great!

I like a lot of the things you've done. The wings in the shoulderpads and the extra sword scabbard. I think the only thing I wish was different was the slate that you put on the base. While it's cool having it, it covers him up a bit and detracts from his grand image. Try sticking him on top of slate and not like he just took a step into a crevice.

 

He looks imposing and ornate. Good model.

I like the addition of Maxmini bitz, but he's just too busy, the scolls, plume and banner on his back should go in my opinion, it'll also make transporting him WAY easier, cause that huge banner is gonna break off before long. Also the little tabard on his butt is a bit odd looking when combined with the codpiece, and I'd would cut the hilt off the sheathed sword to make the scabbard look like it's for the Power Sword.

 

I just think there's too much on the model, all the little odds and ends will take your eye away from the alternate head and the pre-heresy styled shoulderguards.

I like the busyness of the model, he is you're HQ after all. Do take Dan's advice tho. I can see him looking really good in black & dark purple with marble/light grey/white highlights on the wings and casings of the weapons. I recommend avoiding using too much 'metal paints' as it would make him look tacky.
