do wolves fear Plasma technology?

Recommended Posts

greeting Sons of the Fang..

i'm working on a death watch kill team, and i was thinking of using a gray hunter model to be armed with either a plasma cannon or plasma pistol + lighting claw combo... and the thought cross my mind... they refuse to use teleportation... would they shun the use of Plasma weapons as well?

any imput would be welcomed

A standard Grey Hunter squad can carry more plasma then a tactical marine squad.

1 x Plasma Pistol

2 x Plasma Guns

1 x Combi-Plasma from a Wolf Guard Pack Leader.

So, no, they like plasma just fine. The description of it in the codex likens to plasma to the heat of the Sunwolf, a figure of Fenrisian mythology.

it was more of a question of placement, but to be honest.. i could not see how i would have Wolf Brothers in my Forces and have them as fill models for a tactical squad.. i could only see that a place on the command squad as a full flight Vets.. being where a pair of the fang's finest would be found.

btw i always heard Wolves drank there ale "from" the skull of ork... :pirate:

Some do. I have known Wolves that preferred the larger capacity of a Genestealer skull. Others that swear that the skull of a Tau Warrior is the best. And still yet more warriors claim that the Skull of a Rhinox works best for its great capacity. Myself..I have allways favored the contents more then the container it came in.
The Wolves fear nothing!!!

As Wispy said the Space Wolves are known for their use of Plasma Weapons, so have at it.

I concur that the Wolves aren't scared of plasma technology, but we often do hesitate to take advantage of available plasma weaponry because of their tendency to overheat and burn the user (stupid Gets Hot! rule - my least favorite rule in all of 40k).

It's usually pretty hard to drink out of a skull, since they typically aren't a sealed enclosure. My Wolves prefer to drink from a stein, or barrel, depending on which is available.

Um.... not sure if you know this, but the Wolf Brothers don't exist anymore. I think you meant Space Wolf Brothers, but the Wolf Brothers Chapter is long gone.

I don't get it. Just because we do not use the backwards arcane teleportation technology, people think we don't like any technology. *sigh*

So there are people out there who think that there are but naked Space Wolves running around out there, singing and dancing to 'I'm singing in the rain'?

The Wolves fear nothing!!!

I recon theres one thing we fear.Drinking milk for the rest of our lives instead of ale out of our slain enemys skulls. That is worse than torture.

Im pretty shure you can fill up a skull with something to close the holes.Thoug im not sure I want to try it.Dont have extra skulls laying around :P

But regarding the post, we don't fear plasma thecnology.Grey Hunters, long fangs and the rest use plasma pistols, plasma guns, canons etc. We just realy don't like teleporters. But I like plasma for their AP value.

Clay or Wax is easy to fill the parts in the skull that might cause difficulty in use, mainly along the base of the skull for the spinal column. Beyond that most skulls are actually fairly well contained. This of course would mean that in claiming your new drinking mug you didn't shoot the former owner in the head of course.

*looks around* What? If you are going to threaten to tear someone's head off and make it into a drinking cup,you should at least know how to carry out your threat after all.

I prefer the skulls of giant Squiggoths. Nothing beats those. Maybe except for some Zoanthropes's skulls which are, in fact, pre-designed to look as giant mead horns.

Space Wolves LOVE plasma guns.

We have our own fluff entry for the gun in our armory stating how much we love plasma

Plasma guns and the blazing bolts of energy they fire are very popular with the Space Wolves, who as mortals revered the sun just as much as the moon, and take any excuse to grant the foe the searing kiss of the Wolf's Eye
This of course would mean that in claiming your new drinking mug you didn't shoot the former owner in the head of course.

Ok,so what if lets say, somebody might want to get there hands on a skull, without ripping a head of like we wolves love doing.Where could a guy go?lol

It might sound strange, but i think it will look awesome on my shelving with my other mugs. haha

Well if you are in country like me with cold winters, you will welcome the warmth of the sun and plasma guns.

Well that would depend on if you wanted your skull to have formerly had contents in it or not.

If you wanted a replica, you could probably procure one from a medical supply company. They generally use Plastic or Resin replicas for the skeletons for high school health classes. Alternately if any schools are closing in he area, you could try getting one from them. Though those tend to be fairly expensive. You might also find one that isn't heavily ornamented from a place like Alchemy Gothik or something like that.

If you are looking for a skull that was formerly occupied,well...that is where it can become more expensive,or as cheap as a flashlight and a shovel. Not that I would support going into a graveyard in the middle of the night for any purpose other then one involving Goth chicks, but to each their own I suppose.

All this talk of plugging the holes in skulls so they dont leak...any self respecting Wolf should be able to empty a bottomless mug without spilling a drop. Yes I literally mean bottomless.

Requiem that actually made me lol.

It's been well established in the codex that the Space Wolves have a great affection for plasma technology as they associate it with one of the gods they worshiped as humans.

They can wield plasma weaponry as blood claws, grey hunters, long fangs, wolf guard, etc. So yeah they've got plenty of plasma working around. If meltaguns werent so effective you would see much more of them on the tabletop.

I personally always run a 10 man GH squad with dual plasmaguns, and most of the time I run LF squad with two plasma cannons. I've not lost but maybe a couple to overheating during my games. I love the destructive power of them.

The last time I fielded my wolves we brought 6 plasma guns, two pistols, and a pair of razorback mounted guns to the fight.

My wolves dont fear plasma, and frankly they just dont take overheats very often either- its all that icy weather- they just stick it in the snow for a minute.

Heh, goth chicks are great like that :D

A) We aren't scared of Teleporter Technology, we refuse to use it because it goes against how Russ and the Allfather intended us to fight. With both feet on the ground!

:) Everybody loves Plasma Technology. Nothing says "DIE TRAITROUS SCUM!" like a plasma gun.

C) You lot are all *expletive* idiots. Everybody knows that the hollowed out and sealed up skull of a Zoanthrope is the best for Ale.
