Requiem of the Wolf
Does anyone use him? Beautiful model but I have never seen anyone take him No...and it is very very sad. The fluff is great, the model is great,but...the character is total ass =( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205587-lukas/#findComment-2452644 Share on other sites
Godhead
Man I think he's pretty solid for a hidden character. WS 5, BS 5 2 wounds, Initiative 5 3 attacks, the ability to reroll hits or wounds, and he always hits on a 3. Thats rock solid. He sucks because you end up paying 150 some odd points for him and the rest of his special rules aren't really useful at all. I mean if you put him in a 15 man bc pack with a power weapon, then your looking at something like 240ish points, add in lukas and then you at 400 points, not even counting the points for a transport (LRC), a pack leader, and/or any IC's you might include (WP). That one squad could feasibly eat up 1/3 of your total points in a 2k game. Another point is the fact that he can only be included with blood claws hurts his usage some too. Vlk
its much better and cheaper to give the BCs a WGBL with a wolf claw and a WTN Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205587-lukas/#findComment-2452667 Share on other sites
jeremy1391
lukas can be cool in apoc, send him and a squad ob BC's at a bio titan and laugh after the stasis bomb goes off :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205587-lukas/#findComment-2452687 Share on other sites
Brother Caleb
I like to hide him in a cheap BC pack and use the pack like a lone wolf, meaning that I run them headlong into my enemy's big baddie, like the Night Bringer. He kills the whole pack and laughs, then Lukas takes him out. Real mood killer, when it works. If they only take out one HQ they've usually made back their points. It's a bit of a gimmick, but tons of fun to see the look on your opponent's face after Lukas has the last laugh. Grimtooth
I would run Lukas in a minimum size BC pack straight at whatever is my opponents bad boy unit. If my opponent knows about Lukas special rule, then he will either direct fire at them or run away. If my opponent doesn't know about him or chooses to ignore him, then I get the Last Laugh. Either situation I am forcing my opponent to make a choice because of one guy thus possibly freeing up the rest of my army to raise hell. hmk17
He's situational at best. I might run him at 2500 points in pack similar to what Ramses posted, drop podding him at something to soak some fire for other things. Requiem of the Wolf
best and quickest solution I have heard yet for dealing with Thunderwolves. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205587-lukas/#findComment-2452898 Share on other sites
Quillen
Story line AWESOME! Stats pretty good. But Blood Claws are the suck now. Grey hunters are way better for their points, and Lukas is only good if he gets down to the last man and he has a :( leadership. So he is more likely to break and run from the fight anyway. There are for better options for the points. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205587-lukas/#findComment-2452982 Share on other sites
Valerian
If my opponent doesn't know about him or chooses to ignore him, then I get the Last Laugh. But since the Last Laugh is determined by an even roll-off against your opponent, it is just as likely to fail as it is to work - meaning you might have just sacrificed your 400+ unit (or whatever) for absolutely nothing. Lukas has a lame as hell backstory, stupid figure whose face looks like that of a garden gnome, poor leadership, a cloak that is cool but does nothing in the game, can only go with Blood Claws, has poor leadership, and has an undependable gimicky special rule. Yeah, not many reasons to ever take Lukas for a serious game. Coverfire
I intend to use Lukas for the first time in a couple of days... If I can find the mini, though I think I lent it to someone to fix as the claw was badly moulded. Anyways, I have always avoided him because he is expensive and frankly because I also avoid Blood Claws... Come to think of it, this may be the first (perhaps second) time I have used Blood Claws since the release of the new codex. Coverfire
So I ran Lukas in a 1k battle. His unit had 12 BCs with Powerfist and Flamer, Wolf Priest and of course Lukas. I screwed up a couple of times, since I had never used him I thought it was I4. I also completely forgot to use Oath of war until have way through the battle. And then when he died I screwed up his last laugh too. Not a good night for playing with new rules... What I would like to know is when his Last laugh goes off... do friendly models in base contact roll a dice or are they caught up automatically?
