Hashing out my successor chapter

Okay guys. In order to keep me playing 40k in this interim period of unsatisfying codex time, I have decided to flesh out my successor chapter.

The Angels of Ruination..dun dun dun.

I want to get the OK from you guys for the premise of the chapter.

Basic Origin Premise:

A Dark Angels force was pursuing a fallen angel to a planet when warp storms prevented any communication or travel in and out of the system. The Dark Angels experience a collective vision of the emperor. He gives them orders. The idea is that part of the planet is corrupted by the fallen angel and that they spend the time trying to get him to repent and "purifying" the planet. The force believes the vision because both spiritually and they emperor said that the warp storms would not end until the fallen angel repents, which the Emperor states will take X years. Vision proves "correct". Communication with the chapter is restored. The Dark Angels think hes off his rocker, but the leader of the force(to be an extremely religious chaplain) tells the Supreme Grand Master that he knows of a secret that only he, the Grand Master should know. The Chapter acquiesces to the chaplain and gives him a secret successor chapter.

Basic Character Premise:

Highly religious and Armageddonists. Fire and brimstone. Believes that mankind is doomed unless they bring enough of the "fallen" to repent or are destroyed. Only the Emperor can save mankind. These include all kinds of heretics not only Fallen Angels. Veteran sergeants are quasi chaplains and the chapter places initiates directly into squads (like black templars). No psychers except one, a liaison appointed to the chapter by the Dark Angels. Led by a cabal of chaplains. Continues to recruit from previous said planet and is ever watchful for corruption.

Moto: Absolute faith begets absolution.

Relationship with the Dark Angels: Censured numerous times. Seen as extremely preachy and dangerous.

Possibly being played on a massive scale by Tzeentch.

Thoughts?

First off, the Liber Astartes is typically the place to go for creating successor Chapters. There's also a lot of resources for how to go about it.

A Dark Angels force was pursuing a fallen angel to a planet when warp storms prevented any communication or travel in and out of the system. The Dark Angels experience a collective vision of the emperor. He gives them orders. I'm not a big fan of visions as a reason for things happening. They're usually a bit of a crutch because the author can't think of a rational reason for certain things to happen (and I should know, I've done it enough).

That said, this isn't bad. But it does raise two questions:

First - what's the secret?

Second - why does he need a Chapter?

It would also make sense for the Chaplain to just be given the next Chapter training cadre (which would mentor a new Chapter).

Highly religious and Armageddonists. Fire and brimstone. Believes that mankind is doomed unless they bring enough of the "fallen" to repent or are destroyed.

Why would Mankind be doomed by the Dark Angels' mistake?

Only the Emperor can save mankind. These include all kinds of heretics not only Fallen Angels.

So...not what you said last sentence?

Veteran sergeants are quasi chaplains and the chapter places initiates directly into squads (like black templars). No psychers except one, a liaison appointed to the chapter by the Dark Angels. Led by a cabal of chaplains. Continues to recruit from previous said planet and is ever watchful for corruption.

Why no psykers? And since the Fallen had corrupted that planet, surely they're not worthy of the glory of being a Space Marine home world? Why do they do that with the Initiates?

Relationship with the Dark Angels: Censured numerous times. Seen as extremely preachy and dangerous.

Then why did they allow their founding? And why haven't they taken steps, as the Dark Angels are more than willing to do?

Thanks Octavulg. My primary reason for posting to this forum first, was to get Dark Angel player opinions first. If many found the premise acceptable, notably a overly religious Dark Angel successor, than I would proceed. Your questions are very relevant; however, as I mentioned this was only an: Could I possibly run a Dark Angel successor that bears many similarities to the "Great Awakening" that occurred in america in the 19th century? If the idea was preposterous to start, than I would have dismissed it. That is the reason for the vision/prophecy. The Millerite movement that occured when William Miller received a vision from Jesus stating that the end was nigh. Many believed him and sprung the "Adventist" or Millerite movement.

So with that in mind (of course it will require sufficient argument and back story) is the basic premise possible?

Thanks!

Ill add further information and if seen fit to do so, the mods may move it to the appropriate forum.

The secret was that the Chaplain knows (somehow) that Luther is alive and within the Rock. I though I insinuated it enough because I believe only the Supreme Grand Master knows this face. He is trusted enough because of his prior service. Getting his own chapter was not a requirement, but he claims that he must lead the chapter from the planet, which the Dark Angels were not going to do. This is a very young chapter. Not more than 800 years old. Fallen implies Dark Angels from the Heresy, yes. However, it can be applied to all those who have betrayed the Emperor. No psychers. I am going to insinuate more of the Tzeentch connection as the Fallen Angel was in his service.
