Iron-Daemon Forge
The Legion of the Damned are a mysterious band of Space Marines, probably the remnants of the destroyed Fire Hawks chapter, who appear unexpectedly from nowhere to help Imperial forces in times of great need. - Quote due to my Object Marker being Legion of the Damned carry/defending wounded Space Wolves as I like the idea behind them & wanted to paint a few to be honsty. Hi everone I though I do a little report on a recent battle I had. The battle was against my friend Paul Scott from Warhammer World, over the past five years we have try time & again to arrange a game but ether somthing got in the way. Having being on a trip to Nottingham just there, by some force in this world he was the very first person I bump into upon arrive in Nottingham. So we finial got that game, our armies might have change with me being a great fanatic Iron Warriors player while Paul is a big Tau player. Now he collect Chaos Marines of a Nurgle theme, while I am trying my new Space Wolves force for this year tournament session. Now I'm going to try best I can to do a turn by turn account, but we are only human end of the day & it been a long day trying to get back home today. Now first up the army list, we played 1750pts Paul Chaos Marines from what I can roughly rememeber Daemon Prince, Mark of Nurgle, Warp TimeChaos Sorcerer w/Mark of Slannesh, Warp Time Greater Daemon 2x Nurgle Marines units w/Melta & Plasma, Champion w/Power Fist Slannesh Nosie Marines, Champion with doom siren (?) All units mounted in Rhino's Daemon unit 3 Obliterators Dreadnought w/Multi Melta & Heavy Flamer I'm sure Paul will let me know on the list front. While mine is (1500pts UKGT list because I have it for copy & peaste reason onto this report, with 250pts added on for the ELG & Rapid Fire tournaments to make it 1750pts) Space Wolves 1500 point army list HQ:Rune Priest Dilios Gunnar, Runic Weapon, Bolt Pistol, Frag & Krak Grenades, Runic Armour, Chooser of Slain, Wolf-tooth necklace – 140 Psychic power: Living Lighting, Jaws of the World Wolf Elites: Rothgar theSkeld Dreadnought, Dreadnought close combat weapon w/Storm Bolter, Smoke Launcher, Searchlight, Twin Linked Lascannon, Extra Armour, Wolf-tooth necklace – 160 Odin Dreadnought, Dreadnought close combat weapon w/Heavy Flamer, Smoke Launcher, Searchlight, Plasma Cannon, Extra Armour, Wolf-tooth necklace – 150 Wolf Guards: Wolf Guard Sevn, Frag & Krak Grenades, Power Fist, Combi Melta – 43 Wolf Guard Edgtho, Frag & Krak Grenades, Power Fist, Combi Melta – 43 Wolf Guard Rethel, Frag & Krak Grenades, Power Fist, Combi Melta – 43 Wolf Guard Haltaf, Frag & Krak Grenades, Combi Melta – 23 Troops: Grey Hunter Unit - Trovald 5 Grey Hunter, Bolter, Bolt Pistol, close combat weapon, Frag & Krak Grenades, Power Weapon, Melta Gun, Mark of the Wulfen – 110 Razorback, Searchlight, Smoke Launcher, Extra armour, Twin Linked Lascannon, Dozer Blade 5 – 95 Grey Hunter Unit - Gnyrll 5 Grey Hunter, Bolter, Bolt Pistol, close combat weapon, Frag & Krak Grenades, Power Weapon, Melta Gun, Mark of the Wulfen – 110 Razorback, Searchlight, Smoke Launcher, Extra armour, Twin Linked Lascannon, Dozer Blade 5 – 95 Grey Hunter Unit - Ranek 8 Grey Hunter, Bolter, Bolt Pistol, close combat weapon, Frag & krak Grenades, Power Weapon, Melta Gun, Mark of the Wulfen – 155 Rhino, Smoke Launcher, Searchlight, Storm Bolter, Extra Armour, Dozer Blade 5 – 55 Grey Hunter unit - Freyr 5 Grey Hunter, Bolter, Bolt Pistol, close combat weapon, Frag & Krak Grenades, Melta Gun – 80 Razorback 40, Searchlight, Smoke Launcher, Extra Armour, Twin Linked Heavy Bolter – 55 Fast Attack: Land Speeder unit – Storm Wolves 2 Land Speeder, 2 Multi Melta, 2 Heavy Flamer - 140 Total – 1497 points + 5 Long Fangs w/4 Missile Launcher - 115 5 Long Fangs w/4 Missile Launcher - 115 Wolf Standard for the Rhino mounted unit Saga of the Beastslayer for the Rune Priest +1500pts live just posted there = 1747pts Also some background to my Wolves I remember as many had foreseen, a great evil descended on Asgard VII Prime, those that once knew peace only know war, with their homes destroyed by the foe's of the Imperial, hope faded & led the population of this Imperial planet into the shadow of despair. Asgard VII Prime was left defenceless. But there was salvation, a light in these darken time’s, they arrive from the sky, those warriors of the might Space Wolves, warrior who can set fear into the very heart of evil. We fought, we fought for our dead, we fought for the very earth we stood upon, we spill blood, we fought for the Imperial, for Russ & the All father. We may be few, & our enemies many. Yet so long as there remains one of us still fighting, one who still rages in the name of justice & truth, then by the Allfather ,then Asgard VII Prime shall yet know hope. Saga of Asgard VII Prime by Dreadnought, Rothgar the Wolf Guard & Skeld of the 5th Great Company. So onto the battle After getting a quick pint of cola from Bugman bar & talk about general hobby greatness & catch up on things. It was time for me & Paul to battle over some of the great tables in Warhammer World. Mission - d3+2 Objects (4) Set up - Pitch Battle. Turn 1 Turn one seen both armies rush toward the object, show that this was going to be a bloody battle, worth of a saga. Paul went first & move all of his Rhinos full on & pop smoke. While the Dreadnought & Obliterators give fire support. On my turn, I move half of my tanks 6 inchs while the other half went flat out. When it came to shooting it seem these heretic's of Nurgle where bless. All Lascannons, Long Fang fire power, etc... all bounce off the armour hull of the Nurgle Tanks ;) By russ!!!! http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07224.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07225.jpg Turn 2 By the spirt of Russ, one of the Nurgle Champion blow up, part of him going all over the battle field only for somthing much worst to apper...........a Greater Daemon of Nurgle. As soon as Paul Greater Daemon show up, I know my Grey Hunter unit was in trouble, one turn 1 I had jump them out in hope to destroy a Rhino & then use my Long Fangs & Plasma Cannon arm Dreadnought to finish them up, but like I said I belive he never failed one cover save for them ^_^ However, when there is shadow of dispair, there is still a light of hope. With in the unit was the might Wolf Guard Sevn, for he is a Space Wolves with a great saga when it come to this sort of stuff. Last week he single hand took on a Hive Tyrant (oppent have some really bad dice) follow by gun down the Genestealer unit & then going head to head with the Broodlord, while a few month before that in a game vs Blood Angels, he was the only man & had to make 16 save, my friend was going to give me £20 if I made all save, made 14 out of the 16. Anyway to the point. After Paul Shooting & having his Obliterators destroying one of my Dreadnoughts (Twin Lascannon one) :( & taken on some of my Rhino/Razorbacks near by. It was time for the assault. His Greater Daemon went in & slaughter everone & so end the might saga of Wolf Guard Sevn (his unit did get shot apart & he was the only model left) While Paul Daemon Prince then went into my Long Fang unit slaughter them with no wounds in return (T6 will help him after all :D ) My turn 2 seen the Space Wolves howl in rage seeing there fellow Battle brother torn's apart. First of all I mange to send Grey Hunter unit - Freyr & Grey Hunter Unit - Trovald to deal with that filth of Nurgle. While else where I try to assault Paul Slannesh Marines, but it seem the dice gods where against me as I failed terrible with my DT test (2 & a 3) to assault AHH!!! http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07227.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07226.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07228.jpg Things where not going well on the dice front for me. However there was hope. Basicly later on through out the game. Though my Rhino unit was slaughter, the Rune Priest live. He live, he then took on that Slannesh unit & the Chaos Sorcerer who was attach to them. The dice turn around as Paul failed to kill this Rune Priest, who then be-headed the Sorcerer (after kill the remain Slannesh Marines) The game then went on to try to get the object & into hard bloody rounds of close combat with heavy lossies on both sides. As you will see in the rest of the photos http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07229.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07230.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07232.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07234.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07235.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07236.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07237.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07238.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07239.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07240.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07241.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07242.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07243.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07244.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07245.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Warhammer%20WorldHQ/Battle/DSC07246.jpg In the end the finial count was Paul - Immobile, no Multi Melta Dreadnought - two units of Nurgle Marines, down to four models each - Full unit of Daemons - Full unit of Obliterators - Rhinos with some fourm of damnge (?) Me - Two Razorbacks - Immobiles Rhino - Land Speeder - 5 Grey Hunters & Wolf Guard - Rune Priest on one Wound - Full unit of Long Fangs We both had one object each & other two had units that where contesting or would if any troops came near by. In the end it was a good game & good to finial get that game vs my friend Paul before he move off to the USA. It was good that the game ended on a draw between us. So hopeful get a rematch when he return to the UK. Also was great battle against a pretty cool army, you can find a post I done on Paul Chaos army, which has been seen on the Games Workshop "what new today" pagies last year. While I get my own Space Wolves ready for the ELG tournament in Edinbrugh come the 21st of Aug, so lot of work to finish it off. Army list wise I am very happy with how my own Space Wolves work, so far 8 wins, 3 loss & 6 Draws now :) IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205674-saga-honour-end/ Share on other sites

Iron-Daemon Forge
Thanks I'll need to try fill in the rest of the game, just arrive home yesterday & everthing sort of hit you like a brick wall, took up fair bit of time. But overall was a very good game, been a while since I really seen any chaos armies beside my own. On another note you can find out more of Paul Scott Nurgle Chaos force by here http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...p;#entry2453511 While my own Space Wolves still have a fair bit to go, just need to add my "spot colour" onto my tanks to help out in this year tournament session.
