Natanael
@ Lestat: Yeah, I saw your conversion, and I'll probably end up doing something similar. I think I'm gonna try to make a whole squad tough, maybe with HQ. As for everyone else's work i am impressed. i love that new red scorpions lib, absolutly amazing sculpt and i am thinking of converting my own in a similar style so guess that will be a project to stick on the back burner for later on in the year. well i will try and get some more work done on the beast and will post pics asap Jim Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205686-international-brotherhood-of-hobbyists/page/30/#findComment-2544866 Share on other sites
Pig Of Sparta
Really liking the plague-ridden baneblade Capt. Mick. The only things I can think of to use for forming the basis of the tank(s) of goo for the back is either an aerosol can lid or maybe one of the more rounded types of yoghurt pot. Jimster, the only trouble I'm having with that libby just now is trying to decided whether to remove his Red Scorpions symbol from his shoulder pad or not. I would like to try and do something unusual for him since I went to the trouble of doing a mk iv backpack for him, but he's got so many aquilae on him it's not funny. Did the Emperor's Children maintain a Librarius during the Great Crusade? I really wanted to get some more work done one my kill team tonight, but it took ages for Sarah (my wee girl) to settle down tonight and by the time she did I didn't fancy getting everything out. So I grabbed something that was easy to reach and pretty much got it finished while relaxing at the same time . So here's the Rogue Trader Unyielding Hierophant: http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/RogueTrader1.jpghttp://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/RogueTrader2.jpghttp://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/RogueTrader3.jpg My only other bit of note worthy news is that I was looking at Forge World's painted Lufgt Huron the other day to try and work out whether I'm gonna completely use their scheme or add a little variation when I realised that the head of mine was much narrower than their one. Mine's got an almost blade like nose and a really quite small, rounded mouth. So I gave them a ring and the Customer Service rep was really good about it, so long story short, my Huron's getting a new, hopefully more proportioned head :) cheers James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205686-international-brotherhood-of-hobbyists/page/30/#findComment-2545149 Share on other sites
Captain Mick
Great looking ship. For the Plague Vat i used a small PVC (is this english allso :S ?) pipe and a pod off a plastic bottle to close it from below. Will try to work on it today again :tu: . Replica
Pig Of Sparta Posted Today, 08:46 AM Did the Emperor's Children maintain a Librarius during the Great Crusade? id say so, i dont think they ever say definitively (that i can remember) but Fulgrim was defending Magnus at the Council of Nikaea. But, at the same time they might have seen it as a mutation and not trusted them. Id say you could do him up as pre Nikaea EC librarian without any problems Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205686-international-brotherhood-of-hobbyists/page/30/#findComment-2545452 Share on other sites
Captain Mick
I worked on the Plague vat today, when everything is dry in some days it will be filled with water effects and some skulls/heads etc.. . http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm212/mickey55_album/Death%20Guard%201/th_DSC01106.jpg http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm212/mickey55_album/Death%20Guard%201/th_DSC01105.jpg http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm212/mickey55_album/Death%20Guard%201/th_DSC01104.jpg http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm212/mickey55_album/Death%20Guard%201/th_DSC01103.jpg I hope u like it and feel free to leave some C&C. Pig Of Sparta
That Plague Vat looks pretty cool Mick, can't wait to see it when it's full of Nurgle's Homemade Soup ^_^ This is gonna look really good when it's all finished. The BFG ship started as just a distraction really, but I'm pretty happy with how it's come out... @ Replica: Thanks for the back up on that. I think it'll b reasonable easy to replace the Red Scorpions sybol on his shoulder pad with a III brass etch (although I haven't actually checked so I'm not gonna get too excited yet). Now to come up with a good recipe for PH Emperor's Children armour that I can do with the paints I have... hmmm... Liche Purple and Warlock Purple mix to start I think. Oh yeah and I totally forgot to tell you that the package you sent arrived the other day. Thanks man, the pictures you posted of it didn't do it justice :P A couple of photos today of something that I bashed together over the last couple of days: http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/DSCF9225.jpghttp://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/DSCF9228.jpghttp://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/DSCF9227.jpghttp://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/DSCF9226.jpg The jump pack still needs a little bit of tidying up (The way the two halves are split is so annoying, there seems to be no way to avoid there being a visible seam in the nozzles !) also, no ideas on how I'm gonna paint him yet, but I'll get round to it eventually :) cheers James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205686-international-brotherhood-of-hobbyists/page/30/#findComment-2545556 Share on other sites

You gonna do up a background for the librarian? Reason i ask, is if there was background written spanning from the great crusade all the way to M41 id like to do the same character as a Slaaneshi Sorcerer or daemon, or lord or something. I love the story driven pieces, might be interesting to see. Pig Of Sparta
Yeah, that's some pretty cool looking stuff there Firenze :). I like how each and every marine has a name and I should imagine a personality as well probably... Terminatorinhell, looking forward to seeing some of your stuff :). Replica, that sounds like a pretty cool idea to me. Replica
Pig Of Sparta Posted Yesterday, 03:21 PM Replica, that sounds like a pretty cool idea to me. I managed to do a little work on him on my lunchbreak the other day so he is now one of Fulgrims son's: Sweet, ill be done with my blood angel pretty soon. Ive attempted the chrome on the sword a total of 3 times now before finding a decent tutorial in which i found out the angle at which hes holding the sword would cause one side to be fully blue and the other fully brown. I think im just gonna go with a NMM shading style on it, hopefully it comes out alright! That there is a gorgeous model, and if forgeworld didn't take close to 5 months to post to Australia id definitely get one! ill have to keep scouring eBay for one! I recently managed to track down a shadow captain korvydae on ebay which is a model i fell in love with the moment i saw it, much like your librarian here! thanks, Replica Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205686-international-brotherhood-of-hobbyists/page/30/#findComment-2547527 Share on other sites
