Olgerth Istaarn
I find myself with a bit of a dilemma. I want to model a "junior techmarine" with a single servo arm. I don't want to buy the pewter one. I have most bits picked out already, but I need a suggestion for a servo-arm bit. Are there any clever conversions? My other dilemma is modeling a stowed bolter. A model that I am building holds something else in its hands already, but I want him to have a bolter also. Suggestions are appreciated, and pictures doubly so. Hfran Morkai
I'm planning on using the legs from an IG Sentinel for my servo arms, they've got a lot of movement and I'm sure I can cut them down to size if they turn out stupidly large Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205748-plastic-servo-arms-and-stowed-bolters/#findComment-2454297 Share on other sites
CarbonCopy
Have you thought about a sling/strap for the bolter? Another idea is to place the bolter just under the back pack/power plant. Focke
For the servo-arm, have you thought of using the missile launcher backpack from the devastator box set? Durus
http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/4936/stowedbolter.jpg I think the sentinel leg will be too large. The holstered plastic bolter in the pic is from the attack bike. I was going to mention the strap that CarbonCopy suggested as well, like the veteran has in the pic. With a bit of plasticard or even with some cut up GS or sprue these aren't hard to make and look quite good. I'd just scratchbuild the servoarm with some plasticard as well. You also could search for a cheap toy that suits your needs. If you are lucky you'll find something useful that you could use for terrain or other conversions as well. Razblood
you could use sprue bits and wheel hubs to make the arm. attach it to standard backpack. On a servo arm I built I used the bunny ears from some zerker helmets to make the pincers, with a bit of modification they work quite well. hmk17
Remember, fluffwise, bolters and helmets can also be "mag-clamped" to belts and legs for quick stowage. That's a great idea on plastic servo arms, with the sentinel legs.
