Warhorse47
Okay I have a DH Inquisitor and retinue that rides along with my IG or SW sometimes. I guess my search fu is weak, but I am trying to figure out if they can still take a Land Raider as a dedicated transport? Is it considered part of their unit, or is it still in the Heavy Support category, and therefore not allowed? Thanks from a dense Wolf! Whitefireinferno
Its part of the heavy support unless it is bought with the Inquisitor as a "Dedicated Transport" which I dont think you can. Inquisitor =D=
Actually... Nothing says that an allied inquisitor cannot purchase a transport. Its just a large piece of wargear for em. And to add to that its part of the force organization slot that the =][= is filling as it is Still a dedicated transport. Love it Imperial! =]D[= Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205863-land-raider-question/#findComment-2455612 Share on other sites
Sister Rosette Soulknyt
Actually just because there allied makes no difference, yes you can take a LR with your DH inquisitor, just like his retinue and wargear, its an upgrade for him. You can also do it for the WH inquisitor also in allied armies. Its a dedicated transport for him/her if chosen to carry them. Otherwise its a Heavy weapon choice Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205863-land-raider-question/#findComment-2455697 Share on other sites
Grandal
Just remember that the LR, or any other designated transport, can only be taken if the Inquisitor has a retinue. Also, strict RAW, his LR doesn't have the machine spirit or the assault doors (the FAQ gave them to the GK ones but those aren't what he gets). Warhorse47
Thanks for the answers. This could be interesting. Theoretically, I could now run 6 land Raiders in my non-Apoc force. 1 each with an Inquisitor Lord and retinue [hq], with an Inquistitor and retinue [elite], 1 with a Wolf Guard unit [dedicated transport] and then 3 in heavy support slot. Justicar Valius
Yup perfectly allowed, jsut doesn't have machine spirit or assault vehicle. Now THAT's some LR spam! Some being the important word I presume, i.e not much? Brother Captain, 61 =][= Lord, 3 familiars, 63 Dedicated transport: Land raider, 250 =][=, familiar, 26 Dedicated transport: Land raider. 250 =][=, familiar, 26 Dedicated transport: Land raider. 250 =][=, familiar, 26 Dedicated transport: Land raider. 250 5 IST, 50 5 IST, 50 Land Raider, 250 Land Raider, 250 Land Raider, 250 7 raiders, 2052 points by my count. Bump it up to required points level with more troops and rhinos for th IST as you see fit :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205863-land-raider-question/#findComment-2456380 Share on other sites
number6
Yup perfectly allowed, jsut doesn't have machine spirit or assault vehicle. Well, my print copy of the WH 'dex gives Land Raiders Machine Spirits ... the old version, but still! The free PDF WH codex has the same update. No assault vehicle, true. But I haven't yet played against anybody who would deny that to you. Warhorse47
Now, just have to pick up my 6th Raider. Guess I will have to paint it in House Bellisarius colors {I run my Inquisitors as Navigators for fluff purposes]. You can always use the IA 2 update to bypass those issues, though if you do that there is the issue of IA2 GK Crusaders having quite a few weaknesses compared to the codex version.
