DIY chapter conversion ideas

Hey all,

 

I am about to embark on a DIY project which will involve the creation of my Homebrew chapter the Alban Lions. To do this I will be using several bits from the High elf lion chariot (like the cloaks, the lion emblems and the should 'pads') as well an some Greenstuff to give them more of a 'Lion based' aesthetic.

 

If you have done something similar i'd love to know what you did and if you are planning to do something like that then i'd like to know what you intend to do. Obviously, while I have chosen lions, it could be anything! Another idea I had, which i'm sure is being done elsewhere is to use bits from the many (DA and BA especially) kits that have feathers and/or wings to create a chapter centred around bird of prey. That is the kind of thing i'm thinking about.

 

As i said, any ideas (or completed models) i'd love the hear about (or see) them.

I'm one of the people doing something like that. :mellow:

My present real life chapter (name pendng) is in esence a blend of Blood Angel and Dark Angel bits, with chaos warrior helms (minus the horns) and stuff so they look a bit more knightly. So far the completed models look pretty good, by my standards, but they're several orders of magnitude less cool than the usual fare found in the Hall of Honour here.

 

For the most part, just picture white and blue sanguinary guard with knight-ish helmets, because that's all I've got at the moment. :rolleyes:

I'm sure others here have more.... impressive conversion ideas for their chapters. :)

For the Steel Dogs, I'm going to cut up RT-era marines so they actually stand up. I think it'll take a while, though.

I'm not planning on writing about my 'real life' chapter, actually.*

They're far too awesome to be contained by such things as common sense and a shared universe. :P

 

*Nor will I write about the Beige Templars, Emperor's Gardeners, Brawling Eagles or Snow Angels for much the same reasons. :D
