Well, if you ignore the possibility of doing a true DIY chapter, then it is really a matter of picking a random GW chapter. I have fluffed out three of them myself, two through community projects, and our general approach was "Which colour scheme is the coolest?" "Which name/symbol sparks of the best ideas?". However, reading your post it seems you are more interested in painting/modelling a chapter that has some, if only a little, of background about them.

Most schemes GW has produced lack both fluff and players. Pick almost anything you like - chances are you'll never meet someone else (check this by punching the Chapter name into the search field on the B&C).

Another option would be to pick a DIY Chapter you liked and paint up some of them. The Liber Honorous at the top of this subforum lists a number.

In one of the white dwarves games workshop did some sample models called white minotaurs, i thought they looked awsome and tried twice to replicate the scheme, however i couldnt get the desired effect

here is a pic of one

other than the colour scheme and a few sample models i dont think there is any fluff

I am now considering a DIY chapter.

BUT

the problem is i am not very good with the fluff and writing side of it all.

I can t name them or give them fluff etc

can anyone here help out with that bit?

These are some colours i have been playing around with

I like the second color scheme, sharply divided into black and white, reflecting a crusader's moral stance. The others seem confused.

As for name, your own- Iron Bear- will probably work. As for fluff, maybe they saved a feral world from a Necron incursion, and then recruited this world's natives, who name the xeno "iron bears" after the planet's apex predator? These new recruits adopted the black-and-white color scheme used by the Necron Immortals they encountered, to strike fear in their enemies?

Merged your two threads together.

Looking at your colour scheme, and then this comment:

I don't know about anyone else but I've never seen a Mortifactors army

It did strike a suggestion, why not do a Mortifactors army? Their colour scheme is similar to the ones you suggested and they have some really cool background to them. If you wish to read a little about them, they appear in one of the Ultramarine books - Warriors of Ultramar.
