Lord Tharand
Below are my first five models for my new army. I'm a little discouraged with how they've turned out so far. I've been following the red formula by 'Eavy Metal painter Anja Wettergren from WD356 (Space Hulk Edition). I really like how the red turned out because I feel like it's very smooth and even which I was surprised by. What has gotten me down in the dumps though is the shading I did in the recesses of the armor. My hand was either not very steady in most cases or the brush I was using was too large. I think I can go back over to clean it up and smooth out some of the lines. I would love to hear some C&C from you guys or some tips to help with shading. The formula for the red is pretty simple: 1:1 Blood Red to Dark Flesh for the best coat. No highlights have been done on the models yet but there will be a few layers. 3:1 Blood Red and Dark Flesh for the first highlight Pure Blood Red for the second Blazing Orange over that layer 2:1 Blazing Orange to Vomit Brown on the very edges After all thats done I'll water it down with a watered-down Baal Red. Now on to the pics! Sergeant.
