So I haven't been around at all in the past few months, various life issues and law exams all got the better of me, but I hope I should be able to do some more painting now that it's finally all finished. I painted this yesterday to go with my grey knights (yeh I know it isn't exactly legal but I couldn't resist buying one :D )

The top comes off and the heavy bolter gunners will go in when I finish them this afternoon (hopefully...) the back ramp is magnatized and naturally it comes off it's flying base. The base is made of polystyrene weather with black spray :P

Hope you like it.

p.s for reference to the rest of the army Gil's Grey Knights (apologies for linking to TO, but B&C seems to have lost my old post :) )

Very nice! I like the strategic use of red on the wings to break up the grey of the body, as well as the interior detail you took with the lights.

Now all you have to do is whip up a meltagun squad of ISTs to go with it, and it's perfectly legal as per IA2 (check Forge World's website for the v1.3 update) so don't worry much about it! :)

Nice user of colours. I would add a bit of weathering and texture onto the machinery in the second and third pictures to really add some depth to it: a nice thin mix of black oil paint, burnt umber and white spirit can give a really good oily sheen to metal joints and if you want to make a few subtle rust spots you can use a craft knife to lightly scrape some orange-coloured chalk pastels onto the still wet mixture. When the white spirit evaporates it will fix the pastel dust in place. You can use the same technique using raw white spirit and black chalk pastel for some niec soot effect around the engines too.
